tkramer, U2 touches a part in many peoples' hearts and souls that IS universal - which transcends culture, age, ethnicity and, as we can see with FYM, political ideologies.

I think that's because U2's music talks about the hopes, dreams and frustrations of being human and poses us all with ideas and challenges on how best to live our lives.

I think the HIGH QUALITY of their songs, the ideas they sing about in their songs and the EXTRAORDINARY people that they are gives U2 a special place in many peoples' hearts around the world.
