And during the "I've got no shame" I think it's Joan Jett not Chrissie Hynde from The Pretenders.

Many young people are stupid and ignorant. They know little about music except how it relates to their necessary hair cuts and tee shirts.
Show me a 20yr old with a Smokey Robinson CD?
Check that, show me a 20yr old who knows who Smokey Robinson is?
There are none. Ziltch. Nada.
It's not cool enough.
There goes any theory that post 2000 U2 only care about the youth market.

False.
Stop making blanket statements. If you knew twenty year ols like me you'd know differently. Stop making stupid assumptions, you're only making yourself look like a jackass.

Irvine511 said:maybe i'm reading way too much into this, but i'm really struck by the feeling of completion by this video.
we're about 50 years from the birth of rock and roll in the popular sense (Elvis in 1956), and U2 is 30 years old, and they've just completed the mammoth Vertigo tour, and we've seen the visual dismantling of an Atomic Bomb by love (see what it's done?), and we've got a celebration of the last 50 years in a sort of multi-culti kids singing Coke commerical from the 1970s (and i love it).
there's a real ending here, and we've linked back to the beginning.
it feels like the last 30 minutes of Revenge of the Sith where, like, everything falls into place and you're just like, damn, now i know why Lucas tortured us with 2 crappy movies.
feels like an era has ended. a new one about to begin.
i smell something big in 2007/8.
