BONO CONFRONTS AIDS
Bono is bringing his campaign to raise awareness about the AIDS epidemic to the American frontline, with a brief solo tour of the US, dotmusic can report.
The U2 frontman began the 'Heart Of America' tour on Sunday - World AIDS Day - in Lincoln, Nebraska, debuting a new song to the 2,300 crowd.
Bono performed 'America's Prayer' at the show, and discussed the situation in Africa, where 75 per cent of the 42 million people worldwide infected with HIV are believed to live.
From the stage, he explained: "It's not about charity. It's about justice and equality. I'm not here to lecture, and even thought it's Sunday, I'm not here to preach."
