No politics....
By Larry Matthews
DUBLIN, IRELAND Friday 7.5.2002 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Irish rock star Bono is not going into politics, despite his recent activism to get aid for poor countries...and his tour of Africa with U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill.
Bono tells Ireland's Hot Press magazine, "Nothing comes close to the feeling of waking up with a melody in your head and having a band like U2 to help you capture it."
Bono has been mentioned as a possible candidate for President of Ireland. Says he, "I don't think I could live with the pay cut..."
According to Reuters, Bono also says he's learned that politicians work hard, "a lot harder than I thought...but I don't want to be one."
