OK i know i know, that these dates may be wrong (the australian open being a biggie there!) but but, to actually HAVE dates, to look at them and know in my HEART that they are coming and we are not getting skipped makes me break out in goosebumps and just made me scream at my computer about 5 seconds ago....

oh god oh god oh god, please please please let it be true!!!!!!

*does a happy dance*

I emailed Access All Areas over the weekend. They told me they apparently got the information from U2.com. It was posted on there, then removed.

These dates are very close to the rumoured December dates, sounds a little strange. I rang Ticketek on Friday and the lady told me they have a contract for U2 to perform in 2006 but, no dates confirmed as yet. I will call the Brisbane Entertainment Centre later to see if anything is booked for Jan 2/3 2006.

well Rod Laver is a great arena, i have seen some kick ass shows there. But the floor is really small compared to other venues. The ellipse will stretch out 3/4 of the way around it!

Oh god i hope they dont have the lottery here. Point one, we dont have any fangled laptop scanners, only people checking tickets. We dont even have scanners!

If its first come first served, i'm camping for a week. hahahahaha
who's joining me?!
And it will work great because you camp, leave your stuff outside with a friend who isn't going, then when it finishes just go back to your stuff and sleep for the next day...

i could do that....
LOL

I DO hope they have the lottery here. I have utterly no desire to sit outside a venue for hours on end, though I'd do it if I had to. I'd rather enjoy the day with friends and family. Lottery =

But ... back on topic ...

In a perfect world it would be scanners for every show except for one...

Would like to experience the whole lining up thing once...

They wouldn't split the venues for the Sydney or Melbourne shows would they?

E.G 2 nights do the Superdome. 2 nights Sydney Football Stadium? That way they could have an Arena venue (like USA Leg 1) and a stadium (Europe Leg 2)

Doesn't make much sense tearing up a set for the same city though. :S

i love waiting around all day.... i have had some absolutely fantastic days waiting in line. Going with a group of friends, playing cards and having a picnic, listening to music, getting in to watch soundcheck, meeting the band, meeting new people etc etc,

i mean sure i've had a few boring times, but usually, i go with a big group and we make our own fun, and rod laver is so close to the city we can all get there together, then have some people go off to the city and get some yummy tea....

plus my boyfriend has a portable dvd player....the time just slides right by!

but im not going to get GA all the time. I want some great seats so i can take it all in!

A while ago Bono said that U2 would play arenas in Australia as Australia missed out on arenas by U2 not touring Elevation here.

i would love some arena shows....but i *HATE* the telstra dome in Melbourne. It totally sucks, i've seen a few people there, and it has just NO atmoshphere, and the seating is horrible, you can see anything......you're too far away! LOL

i wish they were going to Perth. I would love to visit Perth again!

No, arena is good. While I had the best time at SFS for ZooTV and Popmart, I'd really like to get more intimate with U2, well as intimate as 20,000 people will allow.

This whole lottery thing has got me interested in getting some GAs again (I swore off them after Lovetown). I mean, if I'm going to try for all Melb dates, 1 or 2..... I think I need to get into training first! Still, not camping out all day, done that and it's HORRIBLE!

I am going to take that and pencil it in myself then...

There are no other rock/pop/rnb acts who are either rumoured or would be willing to perform that early to the big party season of New Year's.

Nup I'm gunna take that as pretty much fact now.
