U2's Total Concert Attendance

Doe's anybody know the total concert attendance of all U2's shows put together is?

Here are some estimates i have made on some of their previous tours based on figures quoted over the past few years.

Vertigo Tour - 3.5 Million (Once the 4th leg is added)
Elevation Tour - 2.1 Million
Popmart Tour - 3.9 Million
ZooTV Tour - 5.0 Million
The Joshua Tree Tour - 3.2 Million

I also estimate that Lovetown Tour had about 0.3 Million

Therefore the Total estimate of all U2's OFFICIAL Tours since 1987 is 18 Million. However, this doesn't include promo tours, and once off appearances such as the superbowl and Live Aid and Live 8.

I dont know the figures of their tours before 1987.

My very rough guess at U2's total concert attendance ever is 26 Million.

Does anyone else have more accurate info?

ZooTV played to 5.4M.

Unforgettable Fire Tour played to over 500K.

War tour was pretty big as well.

I would say U2 played to 1-2M (their own concerts not festivals) from 1980-1985.

Total estimated attendance at U2 concerts was around 16M before Vertigo Tour. So, when Vertigo tour finishes this figure should be around 19-20M.

U2 played over 100 gigs on the UF Tour, so unless the average crowd is 5,000 which i doubt, the figure of 500,000 is far too low.

War Tour: around 260,000

UF Tour: 1 million (only U2 concerts)

Joshua Tree Tour: 3,1 million

Lovetown: 750,000

ZooTV: almost 5,4 million

PopMart: 3,9 million

ET: 2,1 million

VT: 3,2 million (only 2005)


With Pre Boy, Boy Tour and October Tour numbers, more than 20 million tickets sold!

Yeah that's pretty close Vox02. But I can get closer 'cos last night i was carefully studying Pimm Jal De La Parra's (god bless his soul) excellent U2 Live : A Concert Documentary book, which, of course, has all the stats. So here we go :

1980-85 : 1,340,000 (UF tour 578K US, 357K Europe, 126K Australia)
JT Tour : 3,236,970
Lovetown : 748,000
ZooTV : 5,400,000
PopMart : 3,935,936
Elevation : 2,155,845
Vertigo : 3,200,000 (so far)

Total : 20,017,251 This figure is just from U2's own concerts. If you include all the festivals & such like this figure would be closer to 25M.

U2's audience

I've done a little bit of research regarding U2's attendances and I've come up to an estimate 22.000.000 audience.
I'm just about to end an excel file with some figures.
