I’m not understanding the point of the deluxe songs. OL has no business on this record. It’s a blatant appeal to a recent mild success. LOH is a cool but unnecessary remix. BOYH sounds like what it is - a half cooked demo better served on a compilation down the line. And Kygo? Forget it.

Have been through approx 1.75 listens of the album. None of the songs completely blow me away, nor do I think any will be referred to as "iconic" U2 songs years down the road. For me, it's currently like this:

Ordinary Love was unnecessary to remix. It's a classic, to me, and should have made the SOI cut.
TBT (Kygo) - The best version of this song; breathes life into it. I'd love the Strings version of Lights followed by this on the album proper.

U2 is not against any of this, and lots of fans like the Kygo mix and even like it better than the original. Just rip what you like and make a new mix. Give people everything and let them make their own tracklists.

I would've loved if the album just finished at #13, anything that comes after just feels way out of place and detracts from the album itself. Of course it's a deluxe version but still, feels it ruins the great closer 13 actually is. It's so early rating anyway that I didn't even know which title belongs to which song yet.

Just glad I like this album way more already than the last one, when the only song reaching "good" was Song for Someone.

Favorite part of the album is Little Things through Blackout.

I like nearly the whole thing; really looking forward to seeing this album in concert.

Least faves are Lights of Home and most least fave is The Showman (Little More Better), purely for the aural distaste it causes. They're not terrible, I just don't care for them and wish they'd James-Bonded-up a different song for the bonus track.

One popular one to hate on, You're the Best Thing About Me, I'll always have a fondness for due to being in front of Bono when they played it in Kansas City and seeing how damn HAPPY he looked that people already knew a lot of the words. I can't argue with close-up Bono!joy.

American Soul just sounds like something from HTDAAB and while I acknowledge it's not the BEST, I relate to the message and appreciate the bittersweet nostalgia to that album/tour, as it was when I finally saw U2 for the first time.

Well.... it s a tough call. Have been listening to the album all day long. No weak track , that s 2 albums in a row.

First day ranking: (7 listenings)

1. The little things that gave you away (most u2 ish but the only one that gives me goosebumps and makes me weird... so beautiful)
2. Red flag day (is this band really close to 60?!)
3. The Blackout (loved that song from the start)

Then it gets too difficult.... The next 4 songs are at the moment on the same scale...

My top 3 is clear.... my bottom 2 as well.... The rest is all very solid. Not much anything they have done before.... it is surprising, sometimes makes me even smile. Next ranking after the real stuff comes with a good sound!!!

Usually i like rock songs better. Big fan of Like a song for exemple. For this album, the slower songs are so good. Love is all we have left might be my favourite right now.... and should have been 2 minutes longer.... and Book of your heart is the best b sides since Luminous Times and should have been included in the album.
