1. Gone - soaring guitar, touching lyrics, blistering live, it's everything i love in a U2 song. 10
~
2. Do You Feel Loved - another example of what i love about 90s U2, this has a dirty vibe, and an insatiable, cool vocal that (i've always imagined) drives Pleba crazy. 9
3. Mofo - little do my friends know that not every U2 song since 1976 sounds like Beautiful Day! i just wish the lyric matched the title
9
4. Discotheque - BOOM CHA! BOOM CHA! get over yourself Larry. 8
5. Wake up Dead Man - the loathing, metallic guitar and the defeated vocals it props up make this one of U2's best closers. a shame that whenever i hear this song in my head it's usually the poor Elevation live version. 8
6. Please - i have never seen in this song what its blind fans have, but it's a pretty terrific number all the same. 8

7. Last Night on Earth - despite the dirty guitar line and the vocals there is always something that's prevented me from loving this songs as i do the songs above it here. it might be the chorus; it doesn't hit you like it should. 7
8. If You Wear That Velvet Dress - one of two (Cori
) who prefers this version over the Jools Holland version. it's almost like Bono is whispering this song to you, and only you. watershed moment when the guitar finally comes in. 7

9.
Feel Good Inc Staring at the Sun - inexplicably bothers me. 6
10. The Playboy Mansion - playful, funny lyrics and i like it because it doesn't take itself seriously at all, but at points it sounds serious. a good balance. 6
11. Miami - read as above. a bit like Daddy's Gonna Pay - it turned into a fucking monster live. 5
12. If God Will Send His Angels - not a bad song, exactly, but i think it falls into that category of "nice enough". not so bad i'll turn it off, but i've never had the urge to listen to it either. 5
