I'm still not sure which National album I prefer, Boxer or Alligator, probably Boxer by a tad because of the horns

February 26, 2006. Third row. Bass Concert Hall in Ft Worth. Completely destroyed every concert I had seen and have seen since. They are phenomenal. By far the best live music experience I've ever had.

And I also got into them through La Vida Aquatica.

If they ever come to town, I'm seeing them. I'll drag my friends with me, I don't care, I'm going.

Seriously, they've put out four LPs and they just seem to steadily improve, strong evolution between each.

How the hell can you guys afford to buy so many albums in just 6 months? Oh wait... I'm assuming that everything was purchased... ;)

Yeah, there's this thing called "downloading". It's still pretty new, but it's the future. ;)

If someone buys 10 album at even 15 dollars a piece, that's only $150. How is that ridiculous for 6 months? Even 20 albums?

If you don't have a job or have to save for other things, that's still expensive.

I bought Icky Thump and Neon Bible on the day of release, I'll probably do the same with LP7.

If you're unemployed and under 15 years old, you have bigger things to worry about then how to get your music.

Or you don't have your license yet, add that to the list.

3. 'Icky Thump' is a blast too (Martyr For my Love, Rag and Bone, Effect and Cause, etc.)

Looking forward to:

Radiohead obviously
Coldplay
R.E.M.
Girls Aloud

P.S...'Weekend in the City' and 'Neon Bible' were disappointing sophomore albums by disappointingly pompous and pretentious bands.

By my count, I've bought either new or used 21 albums this year. Most of the new ones have been for 9.99 since I normally buy things the day they come out from Best Buy. This isn't including albums I've had lala'd to me (10 more, but who's counting).

I'd imagine I've spent somewhere around 250 dollars on albums in 2007 alone. That's half of one paycheck, seperate from my tips. I think I'm well within budget.

2007 isn't a verymuch quality year in music. my 3 faves so far:

03 Traveling Wilburies: THE COLLECTION

The favourites so far:

Blonde Redhead - 23

Bjork - Volta

01. Charlotte Hatherley- The Deep Blue

04. Keren Ann- Keren Ann
05. Justice- †
06. Kings of Leon- Because of the Times
07. The National- Boxer
08. The Rumble Strips- Girls and Weather
09. The Wildhearts- The Wildhearts
10. Simian Mobile Disco- Attack Decay Sustain Release

Songs:
1. Wilco--Either Way
2. Arcade Fire--Keep the Car Running
3. Andrew Bird--Heretics
4. Wilco--You Are My Face
5. Kings of Leon--Ragoo

After listening to Armchair Apocrypha last night, I've decided Heretics is a better song than Keep the Car Running.

When I was in college, I used to buy at least two or three CDs most months. I can't afford to do that anymore since I'm living on my own. I'm a lot pickier about what I buy now than I used to be, since I buy half the CDs I used to, or fewer.

I'd probably have bought more over the four years I've lived in my current town if we had any independent shops. For me, it's Circuit City, or else ordering online.

I bet Best Buy won't have it stocked.

Best Buy contrary to the name, defintely not where to go for music. Independent stores

I don't get the hype for Lily Allen/Amy Winehouse at all, maybe I'm too dense to get it.

Leslie Feist could probably own both of them any day though.
