The problems of the Ballymun area, where the towers are/were (they're being knocked down) is captured perfectly in this track. It's always been one of my favourites, and definitely is one of Bono's best lyrics. It and Bad really do capture something of Dublin in the 1980s, miles away from what it is now, but do it, just like with Please, without making it cringeworthy, and by drawing on what must have been personal experience. Oh, and my vote goes to the 'Hallelujah's'. The ZOO TV version is brilliant, but I didn't care much for it on the Vertigo tour. Too much messing and in-my-face politicking for my liking.
