Why do U2 take so long to make/release a new album ?

It's because the scientists can only regenerate the band for a four year lifespan
 
Because i cant see U2 being the most decisive band

they probably had a lot of band meetings for this albums thinking where shall we go?

India? Morocco? Bolivia?

That must have taken two of the four years up
 
I'm willing to bet that they're a bit leery of oversaturation as well. They're still licking their wounds from Rattle and Hum on that score.... the amount of hype that goes into a new album and tour these days must be handled very carefully.
