I have this bootleg, Boston Popmart, July 3 (I think!) or around that time. They came back for an encore (in the rain...haha). Great show and my first U2 concert!

U2 even covered "Rain" as far back as 1985 I think. I have an old tape of a concert from England where they performed this song - it was actually raining and they were having some technical difficulties with their sound system and Bono was improvising to fill in the time while they were fixing it. He also told some (bad)jokes to fill in some time also!!!

the 'Goodnight, fuck off' version is from Leeds Popmart in '97. I was there. Never seen rain like it leading up to the show and the fork lightning - oh my. Bono's send-off is customary is the north of england. Even the priests swear up here.
