UK closer to joining the euro

(My understanding of monetary policy is the same as my understanding of the language spoken on Venus.) So, for a single country to restore its old currency, all the signatories to the treaty would have to agree?

I think so. At least that is my reading of it.

So, here we are.

UK still not in eurozone, and rapidly progressing out of recession.

Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Greece - still fecked.

And everyone thought the UK were just being stubborn not wanting to join! We saw the future for the € :wink:

It has gone exactly as I thought! The strong countries getting richer and the weak countries being propped up/bailed out by the stronger countries, who end up resenting it, as they can't have their second car/home.

As a travelller it is handy, you don't come home with loads of seperate currency, but that is the only plus I can see.

I hope we NEVER join!
