Probably beating a dead horse, but I haven't been on this site in a while.
I saw coldplay for the first time last week, and have to conclude that u2 blows them out of the water live. It was a good show but nowhere near as good as any of the five u2 shows I have seen. I had heard how great Coldplay was from a friend and bought tickets (which by the way were going for more on EBay than u2 tix for Vertigo), and while I wasn't thoroughly disappointed, it was only 1.5 hours long a kind of lackluster. The songs just dont crescendo like u2's do.
