With or Without Huard
KIRO can’t live without him.

Last week, it was announced that former University of Washington and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Brock Huard would be getting his own radio show as part of KIRO-710's move next month to an all-sports format. Local fans are no doubt familiar with Huard from his quarterbacking exploits, but my favorite Huard moment occurred off the field, when I shared an elevator ride with him in a UW dorm.
I arrived at the elevator bank to find all 6'5" of Huard, wearing his UW-issued sweats and singing—with feeling, and without headphones—U2's "With or Without You." He didn't let my presence bother him, either, as he continued with the song as we boarded and ascended. After I got off, I could still hear him as the doors closed.
I know little about the dude's broadcast skills (he's done some TV work), but his lack of inhibition certainly can't hurt.
