Please - UK/US Edits... How do they differ?

Reading the "celebrations" over the the Pop anniversary, I have been trying to put together my favoured version of the album.

I noticed on U2 Wanderer that the Please single contained these two edits; could anybody explain how they differ to album/single versions?

Actually the promos contain edits of the single version for radio play
