Thanks everyone for all the compliments...I think I look a little maniacal (sp?) in some of these pics, but they are great pics and I am so flattered that Naya has posted them all....
Yeah, now that I am much more confident (thanks to friends like Spinny being so enthusiastic) I have the courage to do some things with our "Bono" that Morleigh did not do with the real thing! lol! The first time we did that thing with the splits it was totally spontaneous, but it worked so well (he walks over me as I am in the splits) we keep it in many of the shows now. I also pull off his fly shades and place them on my head....and he teases me with my own scarf...kind of like another bullfight! It is SO MUCH FUN!!!
I am just thrilled that Naya and Zoogrl and Dave came all the way from Montreal, and Arun from Buffalo...it REALLY made it seem like we were watching U2! They really are such a great band, I hope we will have more long distance visitors soon!
As to the question about the lessons....well I have taken ballet for about 16 years, and when I was in my teens I took flamenco, jazz, all kinds of stuff but never belly dancing. In fact, I was always criticized in ballet class for being too wiggly, when in ballet you have to have a very rigid centre to your body. When I volunteered to dance with the band, I took some crash belly dancing lessons. So what I do is a mixture of belly, ballet and whatever else I throw in. I actually have prepared choreography, but I NEVER use it, because everything winds up being totally spontaneous anyway.
So....sorry about that little lecture there! lol! Whackamole took some great pics of everyone too, hopefully she will post hers too.
Disco.....that was very mean! LOL!
But actually there IS a video...I just don't have it yet. It's coming!
