Okay, so we all loved it at the beginning of Vertigo when it was a single. Honestly now, though, I find it more than a bit annoying. In my opinion, the countdown would have fit the Native Son, pre-Lillywhite record perfectly, but on the actual released Bomb, its just sillyness setting you up for a record that is definetly not punk rock from Venus.
Under Lillywhite, the record transformed from a unpolished, messy, rocking affair into a slickly packaged, consistantly good, properly-structured commercial juggernaut. When you finish Vertigo and are dropped into Miracle Drug and a succession of viscearl, personal songs, Vertigo just seems like too much of a cast off really.
Anyway I'm just rambling and thinking, feel free to join in with random posts. This is in no means a Vertigo-bashing thread, as I still like the song.
