Met Bono and Edge all 4 days!

Saturday we got there early and ended up getting sunburnt waiting and Schmeg apparently got sunstroke since she started talking to the guy filming stuff for the DVD about the One campaign....Schmeg giving an impromtu PSA! The had put up barriers but people still ran over across the street which again made it chaotic when Bono showed up. He got out of the car and our side started to sing Happy Birthday and he turned around to listen...and flashed a peace sign and bowed. He made it to our side and I was able to give my card and Meg was behind me so he leaned over me and his arm brushed the top of my hat and I heard a something that sound like a kiss but had no idea what was going on since all I saw was his chest! I will let you find out the rest of that later!

The crowd, of course, moved forward as Bono came over, and I was standing literally on one toe on the curb, trying not to squish Kariann or fall over. I wanted my album sleeve signed, but there's time for that...I REALLY wanted to give him my birthday card, which included a simple thank-you. The crowd pushed forward and got more frantic as Bono got closer, but in my awkward Yoga-like position I got this sense of calm. As he came toward me I just started calling, "Happy birthday! Happy birthday, Bono!" and waved my card somewhere over Kariann's head.

Finally he looked over at me, looked me right in the eye, and I know he said thank you...but that's the last thing I remember hearing. He took my left hand...I thought just to shake it...and I squeezed his fingers and just said, "Thank you, thank you so much..." and then realized he was still looking me right in the eye and he hadn't let go of my hand. I felt like I was watching someone else as he pulled my hand in and kissed it.



I don't even remember if he was saying anything, or what it felt like, and it actually took a minute for it to really hit me that it had happened!!

You were all fun folks to be with in a crowd those days! Bono and Edge seemed to enjoy a few minutes with everyone too. did you see Bono's smile when the crowd wished him a happy birthday on 5/09?

If any of you were at the shows I these this might have been when Stories was thanking him to pulling her up to do Party Girl. We got to hang around with the Midwest crew a bit this week and they are an awesome group of people! I could see her leaning toward him in his shades!

Did he smell good?

I'm not sure if it was him or not that I smelled on Monday but if it was he smelled very nice. I didnt really think about it until afterward. Yesterday when he was having a pic taken with someone he said that he wasnt smelling very nice today but that was ok since it was his birthday. I can say that I didnt notice any smell good or bad on Tues when he was that close and leaning over me.

It was kind of the same for San Diego and Seattle, pretty orderly when Edge showed up, slightly chaotic for Bono. Kind of like the lines reflect their personalities .

I have to say it's the best sunburn I've ever had!!

I kind of do, too! I don't know what got into me, usually I run away from cameras, and there I was going, "Hey!! We all just got text messages from BONO!!!" I can only imagine what a dork I was...and I haven't even gotten to the part with the marker all over my face yet...

Oh yeah the marker! If it does and I end up in the shot of you I'm sure I'll be the one looking like a dork listening to you and trying not look like a dork.

Thanks! I was kind of feeling weird being right there and snapping pics but I was like the opportunity is there and I could barely move my arms to get my card to him so I snapped away.

I had to work this afternoon!


I had the most amazing weekend with Kariann, Schmeg, U2, and all the people we were with each day. A big to the U2 Midwest group for letting us hang with them! Being in Bono's presence so damn cool but I was out to find Edge. I haven't read what Kariann and Schmeg said here but meeting him was the most random thing ever. We walked by a hotel and saw some familiar security and also some U2 fans. I was expecting Bono to come out but it was Edge. I asked if I could get a picture with him and he said in a super quiet voice "sure no problem." I'll post more later or tomorrow. I'm so tired I feel like I'm going to and all I've had for the past 5 days is muffin products I have tons of pictures of Bono and Edge but most of mine are bascially what is already here...but I'll still post a few eventually.
