It's GA "line" shenanigan time!

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

I was told who this may have been and no, it wasn't her. It was someone on crutches.

You're kidding lol. Well maybe they learned from her in 2011. Still though, as someone who had major emergency knee surgery a couple years ago maybe the best place for you to be is not up front at a rock concert - if you have something bad enough going on with a lower extremity that you require a cane or crutches,no doctor in the world would be like "yeah, it will be all good if you're on your feet for 2.5 straight hours and then have to walk back to a hotel on top of it."

You can always have GA tickets and sprain your ankle the day before. Settle down.

It's not an unreasonable fact!

Haha yeah, it was a pretty perfect response.

He obviously thinks he's got some instant argument winning, mic drop line when he says "get a seated ticket". But it's hilarious how he writes people off as unable to queue when he clearly can't either (or rather, won't) better still that he decides to stop discussing it when this is pointed out to him.

You're probably the kind of person who addresses me as my surname in emails, even though Ian is a clearly not a surname.

And if I sprained my ankle the day before a show I wouldn't be using it to get up front. I sat on the GA floor for a couple shows 5 mos after my surgery - at the back. Because I couldn't stand. I wasn't that entitled to think I deserved an escort to front row center.

The fuck? What don't I "get"? I've been loving your posts and loving what you've been tweeting - what I do know is this very thing was a tactic used in 2011 by a line nazi to get her place front row centre. Lay off - I don't understand your animosity at ALL.
Sorry, I was distracted in an in person conversation at the same time as I was posting there. I was a bit brief. I apologise. Also your edit to add a bit more came in before I quoted you and I didn't notice.

Thing is, I give benefit of the doubt.

If this lady had sprained her ankle, this was her only show of the tour, was dreaming to be up front and would have dealt with the arseholes running the line, but for her circumstances was unable, who are you to judge?

I totally understand your knee surgery situation - my dad almost needed a second knee replacement after he dealt with a flight of stairs 12 years ago after my school bus had a crash and he needed to get me picked up - wasn't meant to tackle stairs and did it to rouse my uncle to pick me up.

Just....don't assume the worst until there's a demonstrable history.

I have no interest in being under Bono's nose. Given in live in New Zealand, if I wanted to be under Bono's nose and wrecked my leg the day before, you better befuckinglieve I'm not going to feel shame on the crutches.

Yeah, I really don't feel bad that Vik and another guy who's literally been to every show so far this tour and got a harmonica from Bono last week were pushed down 10-15 feet from their usual spots.

Does anyone know where these line nazis post up? 8 of us have RZ tickets tomorrow night. Maybe we'll all skip the RZ and go straight to their usual spots just to fuck with them.

Red Zone goes in after GA goes in. 15 minutes or so after. The hate for people who want to be front row in this forums is becoming a bit sad. What's wrong with wanting picks, setlists and such? I have a mini collection myself.

I would love all that stuff. My husband caught the book Bono threw at an I&E show and it is the first thing to grab in a fire other than our kid! I've been at the front and there is nothing like it. I'm just not willing to replicate some of the behavior I have witnessed from others in order to get that kind of spot again. More power to people who want to be in front. They just don't have to be jerks, and I think that's what people are responding to. Not everyone is a jerk obviously, but there are a few. It's just a fact.

The hate is for unofficial lines started in obscure locations you can only know if you have the right connections.

This tour at least, the lines have been started in very public places. Every show, the locations are shared on social media for @U2, U2gigs, U2 fans etc. Not obscure at all. Generally in /or outside one of the stadium 4 avenues. Or right across from them if the venue is strict.

You search twitter: U2 GA line (your city) and you find everything there.

What is this obscurity everyone is talking about? Couldnt be further from the truth this tour.

You realise you're talking to the guy who shares it on U2gigs, right? And do you know why I do? To make public these ridiculous secret locations. I often receive the info not from people running the line, but others who stumbled across it, including in closed Facebook groups.

Starting an unofficial line in the carpark of a fast food joint down the road from the stadium is not obvious to anybody but fans who either are in the know or follow the right social media accounts and log on at the right time to see it retweeted or shared. Then coercing security to accept the list when the stadium clearly stipulated online that there is to be no queue before a certain time? Ridiculous. Any fan who follows the official info posted on stadium websites gets dudded.

If it was fair you'd be able to join the line as it was starting after having received information available to the general public from prominent locations.

I had to coax the DC line info out of one of the list keepers in a closed group. I then immediately tagged U2gigs and atU2 on twitter and used the hashtags. Maybe 1 or 2 lines so far this tour have been put on blast by the line runners. Most of them have been put out to the twitterverse by nosy assholes like me.

Jeff and friends went top of the tree in Philly. BTW I dont think line leaders are getting to the front at consecutive shows where the list starts while a show is ongoing. The Philly crew were not in Louisville and as far as I could tell, didnt save spots for anyone in Louisville. People who attended Ky got Saturday morning numbers in the 90s. FWIW Jeff ran a pretty fair line in as much as a secret line can be fair. He did block SOMEONE from here though I think. He apologized later.
