i imagine us running away together,
hand in hand we take on the world.
as the days grow longer, pieces of you fade from memory,
your eyes dim
your teeth dull
your arms shorten
your stomach rounds
your smile dissipates
and you cease to exist more and more.

i haven't been here in quite a while,
