:hmm: Could be. Bono tends to write lyrics for songs long (years even) before he uses them for anything.
 
True, when I was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this summer they had a letter Bono had written to... someone at Rolling Stone magazine I think. It was pre-HTDAAB, but the letter was talking about Africa and mentioned the line "crumbs from [their]table."

Re-reading Bill Flanagan's book, Hold Me Thrill Me was written when they made Zooropa, which was also when that interview happened, I think.
