even NJ loves NY
you'd do anything
we're not afloat anymore
I'm buried under this
ocean of emotion
drowning, I lash out at empty shadows
as I'm flipped over, rolled under
trampled by the tide
you're somewhere far above
treading lightly on the deceptive surface
you could walk on water
as far as I'm concerned
you'd do anything, but you don't know
as far as you're concerned
I'm barely here
I gasp, seeking the life-giving air
the water stabs at my lungs
and painfully blinds me
somewhere in the murky depths, the current
catches my limp will
I am thrust towards the light
as courage kicks in, I kick out and break the surface
only to catch the rain on my tongue
and realize you're a dream.

You have the best endings! You can go far with that ability.

Adore is a great album. I have an idea though that it's the only Pumpkin albums I'll ever own, I did like some stuff on Mellon Collie but a lot I could hardly listen to. I'm not really that fond of Corgan's voice either but on Adore it comes across well. It's an album I almost always listen to from beginning to end, despite its length. I feel drained but peaceful at the end.

In time you'll see that some things travel faster than light
In time you'll recognize that love is larger than life
And praise will come to those whose kindness leaves you without debt
And bends the shape of things that haven't happened yet
