Bono in Oakland, CA today- some pics I took....

Bono surprised the SF Bay Area with a very secretive visit today- for a local AIDS roundtable conference at a church sponsored by a Congresswoman. It was not easy getting details about this event- but some last minute info came through and it worked out. Here are some pics-

His guard came over and told us when he would be done and that he would come over for some time with us. The guard was very nice- telling us the times of the activities.

Anyway it was brief but an awesome Bono experience! I was able to get 2 things signed and get to quickly say "hi" and thank Bono for coming to Oakland. He said something about liking to come here.

I still haven't come down from Friday. I was there on a professional level, covering the event, but with Bono just standing a few feet away from the whole time and no one really crowding him, it was tough to not just walk up to him and start talking about non-AIDS stuff. In the end I couldn't help myself, I needed that photo:)

that is a great pic Roman- I never even saw you with all my tunnel vision..! What was it like inside (as far as was it packed, how it was set up, etc.)...thx!
