Rock n' Roll Doggie VIP PASS
I am having a big day of posting, partly inspired by that handle I stumbled upon. Big Casino It will keep me amused for some time to come.
I just wanted to keep things tidy, so decided was best to group all these expressions that I wanted to get across in the one thread.
If you wander in...g'day
best songwriters in the world imho
best bassman and drummer in the world imho
to you
When I was young and inexperienced gardener, my favourite show on TV was "Gardening Australia" a half hour show jam-packed with information and inspiration. I haven't watched it for a long time now, but I did this weekend.
Lo and behold... a segment ALL about lemon varieties. LMAO.Every thing you would want to know, and more. The presenter had a basket of about a dozen different varieties. He sliced each one in half and talked about their qualities. It was there!!I thought I would let y'all , well those intersted anyways, know.
It's Official...raf's avatar is a LISBON LEMON
I am glad that mystery is solved.
I haven't scanned the pic yet of the fruit I mentioned that appeared on the front page of my local newspaper last week. You'll have a laugh for sure. If in the meantime anyone is curious they are called Solanun Mammosum, a member of the tomato family from Central America. A local man is growing them for the florist market. I think I would be extremely perplexed if someone bought me a bunch of them.
Diamond mentioned dolphins in that same avatar thread. Funny thing , the rugby league team back in my home town is called the Dolphins.
GO THE DOLPHINS!
When I was home last school holiday I found the most beautiful book ( 2nd hand, $2, good score!). It is called "Save The Dolphins" It has some breathtakingly beautiful photographs and some graphically heart-rending photographs, and very interesting information, though a bit dated. I was struck when I was reading the chapter "the human/dolphin encounter - The Evolutionary Journey of Dolphins"....the last paragraph, the last word...familiar
"Extinction like evolution, is a natural process that occurs in response to changing opportunities. Humans should not further tip the balance against living dolphins. The natural world is tough enough without interference."
I think we all love dolphins, sea mammals and footballers.
MM, if you call in here. The story I wanted to tell you. Last year, do you recall, a draught horse turned up at my place, in poor condition and very friendly. The boys called him Stampy, I called him Pride. Turned out our neighbours own him and after a couple of months took him away to a riverside paddock. Well because it is dry they have put him back up here.I was delighted the day he arived, the day I chatted to you. But I soon realised , I can't afford to help him, he needs so much work. I haven't been over to visit him much this time. I can't help. Turns out his name is Prince, Midnight Prince, because he was born on the stroke of midnight the day Diana princess of wales was killed. (I still care about her and her boys, same age as my 2 eldest. RIP DIANA)
So I'll attach a that pic of him I mentioned, taken the last time he was here. He is so docile. I had visions of a chihuahua/ big horse,/minature horse circus....in my dreams. I hope it makes you smile anyway, fellow horse lover. PS: Theer si a new racehorse on the Australian scene, a small 4 year old mare. She has my name, Dada and I are going to follow her. Fingers crossed. Go horsie.
Sicy , if you read this, I love it when I stumble upon you and daafish dancing thru the forum. You remind me of my parents. Music and dance was their binding love. Good luck to you two eh?
I am laughing my ass off about that handle. BIG cass Eno!!!! wonderful. I hadn't thought of it. thank you, owner of that handle. hahahhahahaha love it
some had a thread I saw today about ways to say I love you, Here's one I have always enjoyed. It's usually sung. Just imagine that bit.
WHY...because you make me feel fine
OH....you do it all of the time
YOU...are the one that I adore
and I L.O.V.E. Y.O.U....I love you, yes I do.
And to fully explain my avatar....I was was in town a while ago now, and saw the boy in blue's face looking at me with those eyes from the cover. It reminded me of the Boy album cover. It was out the front of a book store, reduced and reduced again. I bought it and am glad I did. John Marsden has written futuristic novels for teenagers that have been well received here. He got the idea to celebrate and commemorate the Year2000. Y2K. !WOW! He published this poem along with some examples of the major artworks created by Australian Year 12 art students in 1999. An expression of concern and hope.....It is simple, aimed at the young, but their custodians too.
heck trying to get all the ramblin's in one tidy place...Peace to you.
The Big cass Eno...beautiful.
I was listening to zooropa today.....boy Edge is a good guitarist. I feel I have hardly begun to hear the music he and his band have already created. So looking forwrd to what comes next.
Lemons, horses, dolphins, dancing and peace to you musiclovers.
PS: It's STILL raining
