Anyone get anything from the band?

Anyone have any luck getting something from the Gillette show? I feel ashamed to admit I made a sign asking for a pick and tried yelling to Dallas but he just walked by me, looked and laughed, and kept on walking
There must be some strategy! I saw the Edge take all his picks at the end of the show and hand them to Dallas, who ran down under the stage with them, which made me even more upset lol.

Has anyone left the show with anything cool like that?

No.:sad:All these people trying to catch the plectrums and drumsticks are always way bigger than me.

At a Metallica show, Lars Ulrich threw his drumstick straight at me. Before I could catch it, some very tall guy, almost 6 metres long, caught it. Then some other guy came and beat up the tall guy, took the drumstick and ran away with it!

Lars looked straight at me with an 'I'm sorry' look on his face, because the drumstick was meant for me...

When he is sound checking Edge's guitars he usually walks around the ellipse ramp and then tosses the pick out there. Then sometimes after the show if you beg or look longingly, the crew will toss the picks and stuff that was left on the stage.

Once someone I know saw Sam before the show and asked for a drum stick, he went back, got one, and brought it back to her. I am not that bold, but I guess if you are on a first name basis with the crew, it can't hurt to ask!

Thanks for the info! I would love to have a U2 guitar pic.

I managed to get a pick at Boston 1. Like Liesje said, I looked longingly and caught his eye when they were being tossed out. That made my first U2 show even more incredible.

I wont link to it but there appears to be a pick from the current tour on Ebay. I like the black Vertigo ones from last tour better.

Definitely seems harder to get Dallas' attention this time around. It was pretty easy last tour. I went to 30 shows on Elevation and Vertigo. I was in the heart/ ellipse over 20 of those times. I got picks just about everytime. I really liked Bono and Edge's Elevation picks the best.

No way! I tried so hard lol. Where did you stand/go to get one and/or to get his attention? As I posted earlier, I even made a sign and ran around following him before the show (Im ashamed to say this but something personal would help the post show depression lol). He looked right at me going over one of the bridges and saw the sign "Can I have a guitar pick PLEASE?", laughed and walked away. Is there a certain time he gives them out and a place to be to get one? I was going to wait after the show ended to see if I could get one but the rush was so hurried from both the crowd and the crew I figured I would see him and once it ended he certainly wouldnt go inside to get me a pick. You guys dont know how bad I want one lol. Its funny too because I would imagine they have 1,000's of the, but it would mean that much to me.

On the Elevation tour in Chicago, Garbage opened for them and their guitar player tossed his pic out after their set and I caught it. Then after U2's show Dallas handed me one of Edge's pics.

I guess I typed it wrong. I was saying that I didnt get one this time and that I found it pretty easy on the last two tours. I think because the barriers were closer it was easier to call out to Dallas if you were up front after the shows. He seemed to also hand them out after the show every time to people on the front rail.

Bono wished my niece Sam a happy 16th birthday during COBL at Gilette 2. Pretty awesome. She and her friend Joni had made a sign. We were at the rail on the outer ring. Awesome moment!

I'm a dude and I have short brown hair, but my niece has blondish hair. Yeah, we were right of center on the outer rail. Sweet spot. Great show! I have successfully converted her as a u2 fan now. ha!

my husband got a pick from Dallas in the Red Zone in Chi1. He just saw him, called out 'hey Dallas!' and he came over and introduced himself and said enjoy the show. Then he reached in his pocket and gave him a pick. Very nice, very cool guy. I think Dallas escorted the backstage red zone winners to the Red Zone after the backstage tour and that's why he was there. So if you're in the red zone...be on the look out! :sexywink:

 For the love of God U2, please come back to Boston area soon lol. Their coming back, right??? I really hope the 2010 leg doesnt skip over Boston!

I NEED a pick so badly lol. Very jealous. What was the experience like, Beershack? Did no one wait around near the stage and you just went up to him after and he handed some out? I need some sort of strategy when I see them next lol.

I was front row, and had to exit along the stage. As I passed Dallas, I just asked if he had any spare picks and was lucky to get some. A bunch of others tried afterwards, dont know if they had any luck.
