It amazes how little people scrutinize passes.
Sometimes I dont even put them on.

U2 has dozens of crew members and dozens of various guests at every show. Secondly, the only people you need to get by to get to the ellipse are local crew/security. They have no idea who is really U2's crew....hence that is why they have passes.
I wouldnt try going to the band's dressing room but getting in the venue would be easy. I work in the music industry and have passes at almost every show I attend. I usually just have the satin VIP passes which only allow limited backstage access if any. It amazes how little people scrutinize passes.
Sometimes I dont even put them on. I just throw them in my pocket to see how far I can get before someone asks.
One time I got all the way into 50 cent's (hey-I was working!) dressing room and nobody asked to see a pass.

Sorry but there is someone on this board that works at Fleet Center. She was not allowed in the Ellipse, but only during the opening act set change, because she was working. Security can only get into the ellipse only if escorted by their boss, or an assistant promoter rep. or promoter can just easily walk into the ellipse.

hi super_fan,
this was also the policy at some shows on elevation. they were especially strict at the 3 msg shows in 10/01. there is a way around it, but i shouldn't post it. it's pretty easy to figure out though, and it has worked everytime i did it. i checked at vertigo shows, and it will still work. you just need the pass and an understanding of u2's security.
