Well (no pun intended :sexywink:), I won one so far. Tryin for another....

I didn't win my favorites (they we're all really great), but two photos and the ability to aid in giving others drinkable water is sweet enough! Kudos to the photographers and volunteers who made it possible.

Michigan Middle School Hosting Spaghetti Dinner Thursday to Benefit AWF

The seventh graders at North Middle School in Belleville, Michigan, are once again raising money for the African Well Fund. Their annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held on Thursday, April 29 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the school, 47097 McBride in Belleville.

The dinner will feature a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and an informational presentation. Prizes being given away at the dinner include John Michael Montgomery concert tickets, a certificate for a one-night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn at Detroit Metro and gift certificates to local restaurants. A $3 per person donation is requested for the dinner. For an additional donation of $1 or more, guests will have the opportunity to play volleyball or basketball in the school gym during the dinner.

This is the third year that North Middle School seventh graders have worked to raise money for AWF. The school has raised over $15,000 with its past fundraisers.

The list of raffle prizes has been changed and instead includes a certificate for a one-night stay at the Hilton garden Inn in Romulus, a certificate for a one-night stay at the Embassy Suites at Detroit Metro Airport, gift baskets and gift certificates to local restaurants.

Today is day 39 of 50 to raise $50,000 to fund a water and sanitation project in Zimbabwe for Bono's birthday. If you were one of the winners of the U2 live photo auction, placed a donation or purchased a limited-edition print, don't forget to sign the card that will be sent to Bono via Principle Management.

If you're near Belleville, Michigan, stop by the spaghetti dinner at North Middle School tonight. If you're near Roswell, Georgia, take part in the 5K Well Run at Sweet Apple Elementary School Saturday morning. Both of these fundraisers are benefiting AWF.
 
So far, AWF has raised $9174.03 through direct donations (PayPal donations, Facebook donations, auction purchases, print purchases). Additional updates will come once the donations made to Africare are tallied.

AWF Auctioning U2 Concert Tickets During Final Week of Build a Well for Bono's Birthday

The African Well Fund is auctioning pairs of general admission tickets to U2 360 Tour concert stops in Anaheim, Philadelphia and Salt Lake City during the final week of the Build a Well for Bono's Birthday fundraiser. Opening bids for the tickets will be $110.

One pair of general admission tickets for the July 12 show at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, the June 6 show at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California, and the June 3 opening night show at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City will be up for auction beginning Monday, May 3 and ending Saturday, May 8.

AWF Auctioning Limited-Edition Bono Photograph by Colm Henry for Build a Well for Bono's Birthday

Colm Henry has generously donated a limited-edition photograph to the African Well Fund. The photograph was taken of Bono during the "Rattle & Hum" recording sessions. The print measures 20 x 24 inches and is No. 3 in an edition of only 15 copies.

The limited-edition photograph will be up for bid May 5 through May 10. Bids will start at $500.

Henry began his photography career in Ireland in the late 1970s. He first met U2 at The Baggott Inn in 1978 and worked with the group for more than 10 years. Henry's photographs from that era are featured in "U2: The Early Years by Colm Henry", on exhibit through June 6 at the Proud Camden gallery in London.

Henry's work has appeared in publications including Hot Press, Hello, The Sunday Times, Marie Claire and VIP, as well as the first posters and tour programs for "Riverdance."
