U2?s next single, Electrical Storm has been broadcast on various fan sites on the web.
The song was first set to appear on Radio 1 on 16 September but it was aired on 25 August instead. As a result U2 fan sites immediately began posting MP3 versions of the track across the Internet.
The song is one of two new singles due to feature on the band?s Greatest Hits 1990-2000, due out in November. The other track is reported to be The Hands That Built America, written for Martin Scorsese's long-delayed epic, Gangs Of New York.
Filming for the video of Electrical Storm took place last week in the French seaside community of Eze-Sur-Mer, not far from Bono's home. The shoot, directed by long-time U2 collaborator Anton Corbijn, features Minority Report star Samantha Morton who plays the part of a mermaid.
A DVD of the album, including videos to all tracks and a number of additional extras, will appear in early December. The band are also due to release a DVD of the second Slaine Castle gig they played in 2001.
