Next Album Rumours Thread III - The Gospel of Adam

All this talk about an aging band but Mick Jagger is 77 and still recording and planning on touring...and their last tour got rave reviews I don't see why U2 can't have the same longevity. Maybe it's less album making, more single/EP releases, more tours...but they still have something in the...

The Best of the Innocence and Experience Era

I went to all three tours (2 shows on JT30). Aside from relatively static playlists, I think all three tours were great. The only moment that felt was really phoned in was RHMT. I wish they had played that more like the record. Other than that we’ve had two solid albums of music and three...

    Shuttlecock XXII: Summer of Laz

I came into true U2 fandom just as Rattle and Hum was released...and I’ve always thought it was a great record. I’d love to see a Lovetown Tour homage.

    Shuttlecock XXII: Summer of Laz

I really enjoyed this tour. The opening three song sequence was masterful stagecraft IMO. I really got into The Blackout after seeing it live. There were parts that drag a bit but I found that to be true with TJT2017 and I+E tours as well. I don’t expect 2 hours of all high...every concert I’ve...

I+E vs JT vs E+I Which Tour is Best?

Seeing A Sort of Homecoming and Acrobat live in a 12 month stretch made my decade. I think I'd go TJT2017, then E+I, then I+E. All good tours though. I saw I+E in MSG, TJT2017 - Chicago 2, TJT2017 in Kansas City, and E+I in Omaha.

Is this the end for a while?

U2 are going to realize that they can make more money on hologram tours...maybe the ticket prices come way down but so do the expenses. Who wants to trot out a ZooTV replica in 2021 when they are 60+ and can just have Willie Williams put together a hologram tour that gives hardcore fans some...

    Dublin #3 Setlist Thread

I think the Belfast sound check DD was much better than the Dublin concert rendition. I think Edge should have taken the lead. Too bad because I really love that song and was really excited by the sound check, but the videos from Dublin make it seem a little flat. Maybe it’s just not translating...

Ongoing Mass Shooting Thread #3... that's right, a third thread. Because 'Murica.

America is depressing as fuck. I live in a shithole country that doesn’t value the lives of its own citizens...puts profits over people...etc, etc. Depressing as fuck.

    Omaha Setlist Party

I was at the show last night. For me, Acrobat was worth the price. Some SOI rehashed footage...but they were good songs. Gloria was a bonus. Best Thing in its current version just does not excite anyone. I was in the upper deck (great vantage point)and it was loaded with casuals. It is so...

Songs of Experience 37 - now with bonus orchestra

That makes sense. It's like a loss leader...don't care about breaking even on ticket revenue because we'll get their gambling $. Know how to make money in a casino? Own one.

eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018 - Rumors & General Discussion

It would be cool if they went to London ONT...I have family nearby and would definitely make the trip.

eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018 - Rumors & General Discussion

Why not just go to Twin Cities then? Bigger population base there...and two arenas to chose from for dates.

eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018 - Rumors & General Discussion

I was half-joking of course, but...seriously did we anticipate U2 booking a venue like Mohegan Sun on this tour? I am sorry I did not forsee that.

Maybe they'll pop in and play the hits at the Minnesota State Fair this summer :)

eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018 - Rumors & General Discussion

TIL U2 is now playing casinos. If you look at the schedule, U2 is playing Mohegan Sun on the 3rd, and Steely Dan/Doobie Brothers are right behind them on 8th. Well, half of Steely Dan that is...

Songs of Experience - Let The Chart Speculation Begin

Has it pretty much run out of gas at this point or do you expect the US tour will kick sales up a notch?

Rating songs SOE - 2.5 months after release

I couldn't mark anything as great or classic on this album. A couple good U2 songs, a whole lot of average U2 songs, and a couple tracks which should go right in the trash bin. It's a decent album but I've lost interest in most of it at this point - 2018 is probably not going to be a big U2...

    The Showman

My second or third favorite song on SOE. I really love it...even after a month and change it hasn't really lost anything for me...whereas some of the other songs have worn the welcome a bit more.

Songs of Experience 37 - now with bonus orchestra

A month in - any songs on SOE you are just done with? I'm through with The Blackout. I think it's mostly dross and shit lyrics. What happened is I listened to Acrobat and then The Blackout sequentially because I thought, "oh here's a pairing of angsty angry songs". The latter clearly doesn't...

    MLB 2017 Thread

Yeah but they couldn't keep the momentum up and the window closed. they only have 1 WS trophy to show for it...not like the Yankees or Giants past successes etc. the Alex Gordon resigning was atrocious and they let Ben Zobrist get away [emoji45]. That parade was awesome though.

    5 decades in a row?

I went to two TJT shows in 2017. One with a group of hardcore U2 fans and one with some casuals from work. The casuals (mostly colleagues in their 40s) were all about "I went to a Joshua Tree show in 1987 and loved it!". When I asked about the ZooTV tour and follow up albums/tours...it was...
