IMO Edge's playing gets too aggressive too fast. The Streets-style chugachugachugachuga doesn't work for me until the bridge. A shame because the first half is so lovely and ethereal. He should have waited.

This is the best song for me so far. Interference opinions straight up baffle me sometimes.

In all seriousness tho, I'm psyched (and surprised, frankly) to see so many here enjoying it. Holding out til' Friday.

i actually kind of like ABOY. Tho a naughties U2 rock song, it resists becoming "rawk." There's a nice moodiness to the arrangement that saves the song. I used to hate this one solely bc of the grating "Alllllll because of youuu" 2nd line in the chorus, but I've learned to live with it.

Is "be a winner, eat to get slimmer" a sublime piece of poetry? No, but in the context of that song, mood, arrangement, melody, etc. it works. Also, Bono's vox just used to be mixed better. In Zooropa's title track, his singing fits perfectly; there's dynamics; it jumps out at the right moments...

The "walking away" part is fine. It's just the chorus that underwhelms me. On a positive note, I've been listening nonstop to classic (and newer) U2 since they released this song. Random thought: POP is a great exercise album. Try it.

"The best thing that ever happened, ahoy!" ? Hilarity aside, I can't get the verse out of my head. I wish they would've built the chorus on top of the verse chords and rhythm because I want to keep riding that groove.
