I went in with very low expectations and was blown away. This is visually stunning, and I’m sold on the story after one episode. Really enjoy young Galadriel. Can’t wait for more.
I think I may have found a new album that might get 90% of this site onboard.
This is Tia Cabral, an Oakland experimental artist, both in music and as a visual artist. She came up with the name Spellling from an Erykah Badu quote: “Write down what you want and watch it happen, Spelling is a...
Sadly, it seems that we are too few to have the usual best-of-year lists, but I thought it might be good to have a thread up for best of the decade lists/comments/whatever.
I'll start with my favorite songs of the decade. This was incredibly hard to put together, but it was nice to rediscover...
I saw this on Twitter today, and I think it's a great (and impossible) question:

If you had to introduce someone to your taste in music, what are the first 5 songs you’d play them?
I'll give it a shot:
There are still so many aspects of my music tastes that I couldn't...
This will just be me talking to myself, especially with the US out, but let's do this.
This is my favorite month every four years. There's nothing quite like the World Cup.
Also, wtf Spain, firing your coach on the eve of the tournament?!?!
There will be baseball on my screen in about 15 minutes. Spring is coming. The not so hot stove is over, while owners continue to get richer. And the Astros juggernaut is going to steamroll the AL. Discuss!
Yet another year is coming to an end. Tell us about your favorite albums (and songs, artists, concerts, etc).
Is Sleep Well Beast destined to give The National yet another B&C AOTY Trophy? Can Damn give it a run for its money? Or is B&C darling LCD Soundsystem the biggest threat? Will SOE be...
Alright, folks. Peefer hasn't made his appearance yet, so let's get this started in the meantime. You know the drill:
Also looking forward to seeing your honorable mentions, songs of the year, disappointments, best songs featuring a harmonica, or other weird lists you can come up with...
The countdown officially starts today with the beginning of the Confederations Cup. Looking forward to seeing how the young Brazilian squad performs.
Other big questions for the Confederations Cup:
- Is Spain still the powerhouse of the past few years?
- Is Mexico improving at all from their...
It seems that Feist doesn't have her own thread. Anyone else buying this today?
The album is streaming live in her website: Feist - 'Metals' - Exclusive Album Stream I'm waiting for my CD copy, though.

I've always heard some many good things about them but never actually got to get into this band. Any suggestions on where I should start? What to buy? Thanks in advance!

Can't wait to see it.
Footage of U2 rehearsing songs from their upcoming album will be included in the forthcoming Daniel Lanois documentary Here Is What Is, which is slated to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Lanois, the Grammy-winning famed...
9 Crimes is probably the most beautiful song of the decade. I've always appreciated songs that interpose two lead vocals, male and female, but this one has reached perfection. Both Lisa and Damien are top-notch. The sentimental impact of the song is huge.
Appreciate it!

Not sure if a similar thread has been made recently, but I'll give it a try!
Favorite album: Revolver
Least favorite album: With the Beatles
Favorite song: Strawberry Fields Forever
Most underrated album: Magical Mystery Tour
Also, I thought it would be interesting to know how Beatles...
I really like the work Brian Eno has done with U2 and some other artists, particularly Bowie, so I'd like to get into his solo work.
My question is: which album do I want first?
Thanks for your comments!
Hi everybody,
I've been posting here for a while (and reading the forum for even longer!) and I figured it was time to introduce myself! I'm a Brazilian currently leaving in Geneva and, as everybody, crazy about U2.
I've been really enjoying the forum so far, the non-U2 threads are all great...
I don't post often here, but always follow the threads. I'll try to get this one started: What are the best U2 atmospheric songs? I just love U2 at their most atmospheric, exploring new soundscapes, so I put down my top 10 list below:
10. Grace
9. The First Time (specially the instrumental...
