Interesting lists. I think people are ordering tracks in an order exactly as U2 weren't trying to. I believe they purposely loaded a clutch of faster songs in the middle as ATYCLB lost momentum quite dramatically. From a commercial point of view first 2 tracks should have been 1. Vertigo. 2...
Definitely overproduced. Thankfully I know the live version will be much better. That however is standard for U2. For whatever reason their live versions come out better.
Hi J. Thanx for the outstanding remix. Possibly better than the original version in my books. Nice having a longer song to enjoy too. If you ever r in New Zealand email me.
Lots of guitar players only have one sound. When The Edge recalled the past in Beautiful Day people said...rehash. But thats a long time in between without repeating yourself. I have no problem with U2 sounding like U2 just as long as it isn't boring like lots of ATYCLB.
There's always a bit of new and something from the past. Come on. They are 4 people playing the same instruments (usually) so there is only so much you can do. Even the much derided ATYCLB is a bit different (Wild Honey, In A Little While). Soul was new. Bono's pre-marketing as a return to there...
Can you please send me a copy.
Cheers. I am really looking forward to it.

I am a big fan from way back. I remember playing War and UF copious times waiting for the followup:wink:
My top 3:
1. Achtung baby
2. Joshua Tree
3. Unforgetable Fire
Personally I like the greater subtlety post War. Obviously a more edge than ATYCLB would also be a good thing.
I think it's funny to see people proclaim HTDAAB as the best U2 album ever while having only heard a tiny fraction of it.
I think "Dieman" nailed it on the head. Basing an album on a single only is getting carried away. Obviously its nice to get carried away mind u. That's why I'm reading...
Conversely it could be about Mr Bush...oil, etc. "Give me what I want and no one gets hurt?". Its a possibility.
Perhaps a typical Bono double meaning? Personally I believe "all of this, all of this can be yours" is referring to heaven.
