U2 Fans Helping Other U2 Fans Get Tickets

As I have actual seats no GA. I will try to advertise here or elsewhere and transfer as recommended. I hope it works. Sure wish TM was more helpful.

Thank you. I am not sure how to transfer at all yet - might need help with that.

U2 Fans Helping Other U2 Fans Get Tickets

Helping Sell Tickets?? I bought two tickets through fan site. I have questions and could use help: 1) I have the tickets on my phone only. Did they even come in traditional ticket format? 2) Due to a ridiculous series of events, I sadly cannot attend. The tickets are for Oct. 5 and are...

Have U2's 21st century releases done irreparable damage to their legacy?

I recall this era well and I cannot disagree more. As an older long-time fan, I had no issue with an Apple ad. The world had changed and TV shows, ads, and other media was needed to get attention of the people who bought music. In fact, HTDAAB had their best selling first week sales ever...

    Discotheque inspired by Stone Roses?

While that's true, they also paid a ton for those samples. For anyone to say U2 "ripped off" another artist was incorrect - U2 properly credited and paid other artists (I recall reading all about this in the POP era).

Next Album Rumours Thread II - Songs of Ass Scent

:up::up::up::up: There were some good songs on the last 2 albums, but I cannot agree more. I am more forgiving on the experimental side of U2, but many songs on those albums did nothing for me. They didn't grow on me, they didn't have that big single to push the album, they didn't have...

Love Is Bigger Than Anything In It's Way - Chart Performance

 At least you didn't mention tampons for the first song. And let's not forget "Vertigo" advertising all sorts of things on TV (iPods in general, new U2 iPod, new U2, new U2 package of songs that could be downloaded, etc.)...or maybe we all already have.

Love Is Bigger Than Anything In It's Way - Chart Performance

I'm assuming that was an exaggerated statement as U2 have done commercials already. And why not - adds a lot of publicity.

Garth Brooks goal: to overtake the marks set by U2 360 tour

I can afford to go - and went to two shows. While I admit to sitting a token time or two, for the most part everyone around me, including me, were on our feet cheering and "dancing" to the songs. So it was hardly a low energy crowd sitting and playing on their phones the whole time.

    U2 Isn't Radical Now

This is a perfect reply. I too have read articles complaining about U2 being too political. This author complains they aren't political enough. From my perspective, this may be the most political U2 have been since the JT days, but what do I know. Regardless, I loved the shows I saw.

    ***SPOILERS*** U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour - Rehearsals/Soundcheck Thread #2

Oh, and we got to hear the first live performance of Red Flag Day, which was really good. U2 just seem really tight, musically, on this tour. Very well rehearsed.

    ***SPOILERS*** U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour - Rehearsals/Soundcheck Thread #2

I saw the last two San Jose shows. My quick review is below. As most know, the format is the same as the SOI tour, but there are some cool effects. For example, I'd love to hear Hold Me...Kill Me live too, but the remix they do in that break REALLY works well (and it even has a humorous...

Songs of Experience 37 - now with bonus orchestra

For a pop/rock hit, The Best Thing easily fit the bill. I am a bit surprised the song didn't do better, but your suggestion would have failed even more, IMO, because it's a bit dark and not catchy enough. 2000-era ballad U2 songs have not really been hits, so that doesn't work well either...

Songs of Experience - Let The Chart Speculation Begin

I am also hearing more of GOOYOW on the radio (Sirius - multiple stations). That additional exposure, which is surprisingly more than YTBT, is most likely responsible for this bump in album sales. The power of at least a mild hit single!

Songs of Experience - Let The Chart Speculation Begin

Can someone help explain this site to me? I look at it weekly and it lists GOOYOW as #2 on Triple A. It also lists all the stations that are playing the song. There are some numbers at the top though which I do not understand. But those numbers did not appear there before, further suggesting...

The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 Boxscore Discussion

You act like this is all U2's fault. Touring is now big business. Decades ago, an artist toured to promote the album or single - that's where the sales were. Often a tour would lose money. Now, tours are HUGE money-makers. And with album sales being what they are, very few make true money...

Songs of Experience - Let The Chart Speculation Begin

Cher was 52 when she recorded and released the song. Bono was born in May 1960, meaning he was 56 for most of the recording (and 57 for the release). I wouldn't call 4/5 years "quite a bit younger". ;) The difference, though, is that Cher found a magic sound with "Believe". It was a...

Songs of Experience - Let The Chart Speculation Begin

I certainly won't deny this. However, every so often, with the right song, an older artist will have a huge hit. Cher did it with "Believe" when she was well past her hit-making days (in fact, the song hit #1). Others have "created" hits by associating their songs with a particular commercial...

Songs of Experience - Let The Chart Speculation Begin

The album will fall off without promotion or a hit song. I actually liked the first single - and that couldn’t break through. It may be time to connect a song to a great commercial. That might create the necessary exposure to finally give U2 a top 20 hit and keep album interest high.
