Has anyone considered the possibility of U2 going the Beyoncé route and doing a surprise release? The whole 4 month build-up to album release feels so archaic and redundant in this day and age. I think there's a power in having a collective consume music in a communal fashion.
Surprised to see this album so high up on people's lists!
For me, 'Passengers' was the last great U2 (or project that involved U2), everything since has been sub-par.
Of course, like every post-passenger album, NLOTH has its moments, but over all, it lacks that special U2 quality.
I hate...
Is there any chance of a Japan leg in 2009?
This is probably a ridiculous question but I am from Australia and it doesn't look as though U2 will be taking 360 here.
I recently booked a holiday to Tokyo for November - I suddenly thought wouldn't it be cool if I could catch U2 there. But alas...
Comparing In Rainbows to No Line on the Horizon is like comparing Daddy Day Care to the Godfather. It's in a different stratosphere... Sorry, but it's scientific fact
well, the album has had the opposite effect on me. I can't actually listen to the whole thing without getting bored. I think many of you are working too hard to like it "once I left all expectations, baggage, what I deem cool or cool or uncool at the door I fell in love with this album!$!?&!"...
I know this is early and ridiculous speculation on an album that may never surface....but....Does anyone else feel that the next album maybe the 'experimental' brother to NLOTH. Like they decided NLOTH was day and this next record will be night?
Just a thought, if they rush release it, not...

Of course, I guess I just analyse U2 albums so much because I've always felt that each era of their career reflects the mood of the time. Greed of the 80's, pop culture and the emergence of irony in everything in the 90's etc etc
Barak Obama is all things to all men. He is left and he is right, he is Southern and he is Northern. His politics are full of inspiring rhetoric that can raise the roof off a town hall. The question is, is there room for Obama to shine through? will his direction be too ambiguous? Will it fall...
