Paris #1 Setlist

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
If the show does indeed get cut short, why the hell would they pluck the two most interesting slots- the rotational slots? Thatshitdontmakenosense.

So that the casual fans watching on HBO don't get offended by having to endure a "deep cut". As if anyone but U2 fans will watch anyway.

They are gonna keep Mother and Child reunion, but cut Electric Co/Gloria? Ridiculous.

Only thing I can think of is saving Bono's voice. Perhaps today was a dry run for the cameras, tomorrow will be the bulk of the filming, and they may supplement it with stuff from the 14th?

I wonder how much those massive sections full of suits also influenced this. Sounds like they've been a right wet blanket throughout the show anyway. Rudy reported that the seated sections on Edge's side - the regular crowd - were on their feet and singing, while on Adam's side everybody had their arses parked firmly in their seats.

Wait wait wait ... of COURSE they're doing some filming on the 14th. Isn't the U2.com contest about the "who should go to Paris" thing to fly that person to the concert on the 14th?

.... or am I the last person in the thread who was still wondering about that? Heh.

"Right, Paris - that was the filming rehearsal done. Now we're going to play, just for you, half of Songs of Experience and finish with Acrobat, Drowning Man and Lady with the Spinning Head"

*crowd shrugs, Interference puts own front room windows through in excitement*

I'm just going to assume Bono has the plague until I hear otherwise.

And re filming, another person has told me that their understanding is that it's mainly the Saturday concert that will be the "broadcast," although they are doing additional filming in case they need to swap something out.

Which will be good (I assume) for the concert itself, but still a weird show for Paris tonight. Again - plague. Yep. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I bet they will play the bongos on Vertigo, and not near a mic.

If they would have any balls left they will return and play elec and Gloria or ooc as an encore. It's not like they will miss curfew with this lame ass don't give a crap about our fans performance...

I guess this grand act of dissing means the French do not have internet access...meaning they will never realize how bent over they were tonight.

Just got out of class. What the fuck at this show? Pretty disappointing is this is what is immortalized in the HBO doc.

I really think that must be it. Bono's voice was sounding much better than of late at Glasgow e.g. he was hitting the high notes in Invisible, and some parts of Every Breaking Wave plus he went for it in Bad on night 2, threw in a "Shine like Stars in the Summer night" and played a long and very high energy set.

We noticed at Glasgow that the weather was wet (but unusually warm for the time of year) and we are now in Ireland which is also very wet but unusually warm. Everywhere we've been in between (airport lounges, aircraft and hotels) it has sounded like a hospital ward with folk coughing and spluttering all over and we both have sore throats now so it stands every chance that tonight's setlist is nothing more than a bunch of men trying desperately not to stay home sick.

U2's gonna keep dropping songs until these setlist threads go up to two parts again
