Speaking of Danger Mouse, how do you all feel about Gnarls Barkley? Worth looking into the albums?

Not everyone leads the life of an outlaw, Lazarus.

In fact, some around these here parts dedicate their lives to finding said outlaws….and putting them down. For good.

You might say, it's a form of justice…….

YES. Broken Bells is boring as shit compared to the first Gnarls Barkley record. Great variety and fresh lyricism all over it.

So the Other Place is entertaining the possibility that we might have two albums coming. LOL those poor bastards.

Just wanted to say, as for why I was so optimistic yesterday, it had everything to do with the way it felt that the hype machine was roaring to life. Before that point, I refused to even harbor the thought that U2 was releasing an album before June. I let my guard down and the reward was a sucker punch from Bono. So, that's where my intense anger last night came from. Now I'm just sad.

My preposterous ZS shit probably should be taken more seriously if anything. PWS Anderson for life, bitches.

 can't wait for his new movie

I read an interview with him recently that seemed to suggest Gnarls Barkley was done for good, he referred to Broken Bells as his sole personal music outlet now.

I just read an interview with Ceelo that suggested a new GB album was on the way.

Gonna be late for teaching yoga tonight after reading all that! I haven't been thinking much about the new album at all. My philosophy is I'll hear it when it's done.

But I did want to add, I'm another fan of Unknown Caller.

Unknown Caller is like a B- for me. Lots of good and lots of bad averaging out to something I like but can't love because too much of it doesn't work. The chorus is BAD. The verses really do it for me. The guitar intro is lazy, while the outro solo is awesome.

Seriously though, this track is very quickly become one of my favourite hip-hop tracks of all time. The beat is genuinely addictive, that piano line that doesn't let up and the little subtle breaks in it during the start of each verse. I've always underrated Busta, and he has a lot of memorable lines on this track. Even Lil Wayne and Kanye's ad libs (Kanye's in particular) work. And jesus christ, Q-Tip's rapping on it is just second to none. I'm really struggling to think of many artists who have been around for more than 25 years who can deliver such flawless verses as Q-Tip does on this track. He raps fast and with substance. An astounding track.

I love Edge in Unknown Caller, even tho I know Pfan thinks he mailed it in..
Unknown Caller isn't the song I think Edge mailed it in on, though I don't think the solo is anything spectacular either. It's Magnificent and Moment of Surrender where I think he missed opportunities to improve the song with a good solo.

Magnificent is one of the few U2 songs that feels like it should have been much better…..to my ears, at least. I don't listen to "Wild Honey" and think, "damn, this piece of shit could have been awesome if only….." but with Magnificent, it feels soooo close.

For me, the first four tracks on No Line give me that feeling I get when I start up a truly great album. There's quality and cohesion and the sense that I'm going somewhere exciting.

A shame that the heart of the album is a total hellhole.

The first 50 seconds of Magnificent is the best part.

At least it comes out of it and ends pretty well. But, yeah, the middle is bad sauce, and Stand Up Comedy is…..shit, I should have used that song instead of Wild Honey…so bad.

Oh, agreed, that's what I'm saying….feels like something awesome is gonna happen, but it turns out to be fairly meh. That begin said, I didn't mind it in concert all that much, especially on the first leg. WHEN I SAW THEM IN EUROPE.
