They'll never drop Streets.

Bu surely they'll play a lot of stuff from Pop in Brasil, right?

It's funny how the Popmart Tour was the only thing that stopped from being a failure (at least here in BR). Pretty much everyone that I talk, said that Pop was their least favourite album, but they still remember PopMart as their favourite tour. Promotionally talking, seems that 360 was the least promoted here. In vertigo we had SEVERAL tv shows talking about that, newspapers, and Vertigo (and other HTDAAB songs) were being played in radio stations all the time. Not happened in 360. Even the first Vertigo concert was broadcast live... The 360 was completely different

Even with all that stuff that happened (even with the lawsuit and everything)

I'd be delighted if they played BGAB here in BR, since they talked about the country in that song =p. Well, a girl can dream....

I'm astonished that no one talked about Acrobat yet. I think that song and RHMT are legendary songs to play in concerts...

O comentário sobre Pop foi uma provocação direcionada a mim. Inútil tentar conversar com esse idiota, believe me...

Amazing country you're in by the way, I love Brasil, been there many times and the people are incredible.

Nice edit. Shows well your lack of character and your low moral. You don't even stand by the things you say.

I think no one mentions those songs because they've pretty much given up on the band playing them. I'd love to hear both songs, in particular RHMT, but I'd say if they're just going to play one of those, it would be Acrobat. Though considering how Achtung Baby centric the last tour was, I not counting on that either.

I think I know why RHMT hasn't been played (Bono just can't hit those notes anymore), but I'm not sure about Acrobat...I'm sure there are lots of theories on it though. :)

Oh, "Pop was huge in South America" has become one of many memes on this board, you'll occasionally see people mention it when talk of U2 playing down there comes up...it comes from old discussions about the relative success (or failure) of that record and the Popmart tour, as you point out.

You forget the other meme you created: south americans (brazilians, being more specific) love to suck big donkey balls.

I'm waiting for your next post edit, but here's a tip: playing the nice guy just doesn't suit you.

Sorry OpenG180, you're not going to draw me into a fight with you. Not this time. Lots of people have used the Pop was huge in South America meme. Not everything is about you.

And please don't PM me anymore. There's a reason I don't reply.

Nick66 - if you did write something derogatory about Brazil and have since edited your message, you should at least apologize publicly. Even if you meant it to be humorous, statements can be very offensive to some. I think this is why OpenG180 is infuriated (at least this time).

As for PopMart and 360 - both tours and albums are similar, IMO. Both albums didn't perform as well as they should have, arguably due to the first single. Both tours did very well. PopMart did have a lag in the second U.S. tour (the first part through the big cities dominated with U2 adding shows), but it did brilliantly around the world. And we all know how successful 360 was.

However, it may be time to scale back again. U2 have often stated that the music helps create the tour. As none of us has any idea with the next album will truly be like (other than the word "TV" replacing "love" in yet another version of "Mercy"), it's tough to speculate. U2 cannot scale too far back, even in arenas, as often it's difficult for people in the upper seats to even see the band. So some sort of screen is needed. U2 have enjoyed immense success with the heart (and other shapes) so that may remain in some format. After that, .

I didn't say anything derogatory in the post, about Brasil, period. I did not remove or change a single word from that post. OpenG180 knows that. He even quoted my original post...do you see anything derogatory in there?

So thanks for your concern, but this has nothing to do with you...it's about OpenG180 and his obsession with me.

Nothing offensive as far as I can see

And OpenG doth protest to much about the monkey balls thing, methinks.

You used to be more obnoxious in your previous incarnation as Jick, Nick, i give you that.

But at least Jick wasn't the racist you are.

Changing a letter may change some things, but the core remains. And it's not a pretty one.

The last page in this thread reminds me of a time many years ago when I said to a co-worker "Do you like pizza as much as I do?" and she took it as me calling her fat. She proceeded to flip out on my and then go to Human Resources to file a formal complaint. Everyone else in the office had the same look: "What the hell just happened?"

True story.

What do you have against pizza and fat people?

Haven't you read? Apparently I used to be someone named Jick. Oh and I'm a racist. Can't remember whether I was a racist when I was supposedly Jick or not. Can't remember being Jick either though, so what do I know.

That's why I'm so confused.

I guess you are missing the best part of this. But i'll let our globetrotter (n)ick, the man of multiple faces, be the good guy today.

I once saw the Globetrotters play. I think I was like 8 or 9 at the time. It was a decent time I guess. Not sure how much my parents paid for the tickets though.

I saw them in Rio. I guess it was very early 80's. Globetrotters were huge and Pop in South America.

Wow, a lot of insanity has been happening in my brief absence I see, parsing what I hope to be BS track listings, intelligence analysis attempting to ascertain the identity of resurfaced banned posters, etc.

 :crack:
