Again, a difficult choice.

New Year's Day
A Sort of Homecoming
The Unforgettable Fire
Bad
Heartland
Until the End of the World
Stay
Moment of Surrender

In my time at Interference, One has never had a chance at the #2 spot in any song ranking contest.

Oh yea this forum doesn't go all ga ga over One I guess, like the outside world does. But back in the day, when I used to lurk here One was much more popular.

Agreed that it is awesome to see New Year's Day doing well!

Threw in votes for the songs that really jumped off the list at me as 5* tracks:

Electric Co
Unforgettable Fire
Bad
Until the End of the World
Lemon
Please
Moment of Surrender

Thanks to Axver for running this. Twas fun!

Holy shit, I can't believe Streets may miss out on the #1.

Incidentally, given how close it is right now for the top spot, I am considering a run-off vote for #1 if there is a tie. What do people think?

Axver, I forgot to vote for UTEOTW. Will you add that for me?

Of course, no problem.

Damn, I see Streets has predictably managed to claim the lead. It's a mighty song but I'd just like a new winner. Though I'm quite surprised that SBS of all songs is coming last out of this selection!

I had to vore for Streets, it still has the power to give me chills.

SBS & COBL are the only ones who haven't got to double digits yet. Would be great if every song did! Both 2 votes away from 10.

I decided to narrow mine down to just 10. But it was tough. There are many worthy songs here.

New Year's Day

Bad

With or Without You

One
Until the End of the World
The Fly

Zooropa
Lemon

Beautiful Day

Moment of Surrender

Come on folks, two more votes and we'll have the highest voting turnout of the tournament. Also, two more votes for The Fly (and none for Streets) and the tournament will be won by a song that has never before topped Survivor.

Did anybody have any thoughts on what to do if there is a tie for #1? Should we uphold it, or have a tiebreaker? I'm still undecided. Hopefully it won't be an issue.

It could be officially a tie, but run an unofficial tiebreaker just for fun. :hmm: (The purpose for the the "official" distinction being that officially both songs (or more) won, but plain old curiosity makes me want a tie breaker round just for the fun of it.)

I'm fine with whatever is decided though. Either way works IMO.

All I've got to say is if SBS finishes last - behind COBLeugh and Electrical Yawn - this tournament needs to be declared a complete travesty

I really wish that Heartland had more votes. Thought OTH and ASOH would place a tad higher too.

But I am pleased to see that the seeding system appears to have worked well. I honestly suspect an extra one or two late eighties or nineties seeds would have done even better than some of the 2000s stuff.

With roughly an hour and twenty minutes left, Streets holds a one vote lead on both The Fly and Zooropa, which are tied in second place with 33 votes.

Even though I love Streets, and would absolutely say it's one of my favorites, I'm tempted to vote for both The Fly and Zooropa just to see what happens when there's a three-way-tie. I don't know if I should though.

If there's a three-way tie, I'm guessing Axver will make a run-off poll where Streets will win easily.

I decided not to do it. I ended up not voting at all, but if I had voted honestly, Streets would've been one of the songs I voted for. I feel like not voting for a favorite song just to force a tie would go against the spirit of the competition.
