After one listen, I thought it was pretty. :) It's not the Apple Event Gg. I'll upload it and PM me if you'd like the link. (So that this doesn't turn into a request thread please) (Gg and Super Yo and Jamie I'll PM you as soon as soon as it's done.)

Does this sound like a new studio recording or does it have more of a live feel? Did Bono "update" any lyrics like he's been known to do? Always been partial to this song and look forward to having another version of it.

I came home to this waiting for me in my inbox. Thanks a million Comet! :hug::heart:

Thank you for the youtube upload! If I had to guess, I'd say they probably recorded this with the orchestra that they played with during the Clinton show last year. Great version, loving his voice here.

The version on this CD is newly recorded, as the vocals are different from the 2004 version. It features piano and strings predominately with some acoustic guitar. It fits the theme of the compilation nicely. The Eddie Vedder track is also quite impressive.

Wow, that was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting something akin to the acoustic Stuck, where they just cut and pasted the original vocal over an acoustic guitar background. But this is all new, and very nice. My ONLY gripe is that Bono doesn't hold the high A note in "controoooooool" at the end. Otherwise, pretty damn good.

:up: Pretty neat!

:shifty: Could we get a photo of the booklet too? With the liner notes? Since there's no way I'll be able to get this single here!

Really? If we're talking about the version that was released as a B-Side in 2001 it sounds like a studio recording to me, not least since Edge takes a whole verse to himself on vocals...

I believe he is confused with the acoustic version of "A Man and a Woman".

Bono's voice. :ohmy::love:

It sounds different in some way from before, I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but I like it. Great arrangement as well, love the bridge when the strings kick in more intensively.

To me Bono's voice sounds very 2005! Great version of this beautiful song, unnoticed at the time.
I'd like to have the mp3, thanks to anyone in advance!:wave:

Digging the difference in Bono's vocals so far. Very impressed!

Agree :yes:

I love this version. I'm pleasently surprised. Love Bono's singing, it's different, definitely not what I expected.

pleasant, but nothing beats the full band versions -- especially the full band live versions that they played sparingly.
