Man, when you go to see U2 with the non-hardcore fans, you have to establish the rules right upfront: no one leaves until you hear Elton John.

Make sure you clarify "Rocket Man" and not "Space Oddity," otherwise grandma's going to ask to leave at 9:02.

never leave until the stadium until the lights are up.

Yeah, they've been furiously practicing it quietly for the last 45 minutes while the audience waits.

alright groovers and set list shakers, the beasts in my loungeroom are stirring - might be time to pay them some attention

thanks for a fabbity time  for the pictures and links and giggles . . . catch you all soooooooooooooooon

oh, and a big fat thank you to bethandbono and bmeyers for allowing us to hear OTH

You do NOT leave until you have taken many group photos with the claw behind you, and security are being lil bitches telling you to leave.

Puked on AND made to leave early. Tsk Tsk. That is the exact opposite of the night the guest guitarist in Nashville had.

Blind Nashville guitarist = Best night ever.
Rich in Chicago = Epic fail / Worst night ever

if they screw up really bad we have the internet is what i heard

OMG, what an unbelievable show!! What Bono said was something like "if we screw up don't put it on the internet"

I can't believe they played OOC and OTH...I'm still in shock!!

OTH was on the setlist...MOS wasn't.

Just got back from the Chicago show. My thoughts, written as coherently as I can manage at the moment:
-The Zoo TV opening killed. I'm pretty sure the entire GA section was jumping up and down when EBTTRT kicked in. (Not to mention the introduction of a Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World snippet in Mysterious Ways! Neat.)
-As US shows go, the crowd was pretty great tonight - I even saw people dancing to Zooropa at one point. I think Bono even mentioned that we were one of the loudest crowds of the tour.
-Epic version of OOC tonight! Only the third time on the tour, too. Should be played more often; it's a great song.
-I maaaaaaaaaay have been jumping up and down and high-fiving complete strangers when One Tree Hill started. That might have happened. :hyper:
(Also: First performance of OTH in America since 1987? Damn.)

OTH was on the setlist...MOS wasn't.
Weird! I would have guessed it was the other way around - they really seemed like they were "playing it by ear" when it came to OTH.

That's what I would have thought too, but I saw a copy of the setlist after the show. I was shocked.
