Yeah it's certainly MUCH fancier than mine. The regular ones at Galway were over 100 euros, I can't afford that shite!

I think I said this in another thread, but we went to the T. Dillon jewelers in Galway on our anniversary and Mr.Z got me one. It's engraved with "T.Dillon Original Galway" inside. When I lost weight I had to get my rings resized and I had to make sure they didn't ruin the engraving when they did that one!

I am being so lazy today  I just sat outside for another hour reading. But it's ok because hubby's just been playing games on the computer (after he already worked a full day) and the kids are in their rooms reading. Sometimes these days are good.

Speaking of chicken strips, hubby makes the most amazing I've ever had. They are so tender and good. He should sell them I swear. It's a good thing he's the cook around here and not me!

Does anyone else like the Kashi brand TLC oatmeal dark chocolate chip soft-baked cookies? omg I'm kind of obsessed with them lately.

I've never tried those cookies but they sound ddeeeeeeelicious.

Lazy day? sounds awesome. I went for a bike ride, then showered/shaved/primped (AKA plucked eyebrows and painted toenails). Then did the closet project. Then family bike ride and swim. Now we're off for DATE NIGHT  to make up for being sick on our anniversary. Dinner out and then tix to Interpol.

Have a good night, y'all

Cori, your CD thing is kinda like my clothes thing. Now that I've gone through my whole closet, I'm bound and determined to wear EVERYTHING I own. (not all at once, like Joey :giggle: )

Awesome! I saw that on your Facebook. And  @ the Friends reference!

That's so cool. :) I don't remember where I bought my first Claddagh. I think maybe it was in Madison, Wisconsin? After college, we used to go there occasionally and hang out on State Street by the capitol building, where they had amazing shopping.

But I'm a fidgeter and will play with whatever jewelry I have on. I lost that ring at an REM concert. I was fidgeting with it, and then it was gone, and I wasn't going to be crawling around people's feet in the dark to find it.

My best friend bought me a replacement the next Christmas, and that's the one I still have. I don't know that I'll get a "fancy" one, unless I find something with a pretty blue stone. If nothing else, I might just buy a new one to have a "real" one.

I just sat outside for another hour reading.

Bliss! I love doing that in the summer; I have a deck that gets afternoon sun. Unfortunately, the traffic on my street is kind of loud, so it's not all that relaxing. And if I go to the park to sit and read in the grass, then I have to worry about having to pee. :grumpy:

ooh nice to still have a deck though, too bad it's loud.
I haven't been good about reading in sooo long, I've been way too lazy and spend all my free time on the computer so I'm loving getting back to books at the moment.

I don't own a claddagh, I'm feeling deprived! LOL. if I ever get to Ireland one day, it will be my one for-sure purchase.
/no plans to go to Ireland at the moment however. :sigh:

Yay zooey, date night sounds awesome! have fun!

off to take a walk

Salmon, ftw! I bought some tortilla crusted salmon the other day, and I'm going to be eating it for dinner tonight. I hope it will be good!

Have fun on your date night, zu.

So I ended up leaving the BBQ early. There were appies and such, but the burgers hadn't even been cooked yet, and there were no plans for the hockey game to be shown. So I left. :reject: It would have been nice to hang out with my running friends, but NOT on a night when there's playoff hockey happening. If there had been a TV on that was showing the game, I probably would have stayed.

Love this! No hockey...bye!!!!!

Comet: You don't have to wait to go to Ireland to buy one, you know.

! But maybe it can be my incentive! Both my kids have worn one for years. They got theirs at the big county fair here we have every summer. There's a great little Irish jewelry booth there that we've got some nice things from over the years.

Love this! No hockey...bye!!!!!

:giggle:

Bono appears to be wearing his Claddagh the "wrong" way. Is he available or something?

I kid - he can wear it anyway he damn well pleases and it means nothing, but you'd think an Irishman would know that when your heart belongs to another, you wear the ring with the heart pointed at your body, not "offered out" toward the end of your finger.

:shifty: Ohai Bono. I wear my Claddagh the same way.... perhaps we could find a way to change that for both of us?

:cute: Wow that's nice. That place is where the Claddagh museum was too right? I wanted to get one of their rings, but couldn't afford them. :( So I went with another with a light blue stone in it.

Sounds like tons of us have Claddagh rings

I got a really nice one for Christmas a few years back. It's white gold. Lately I've been thinking about getting it resized to fit my ring finger instead of my middle finger :hmm:

I  Irish jewellery

Ps. Happy Monday Girls

For those of you that didn't hear through FB, I quit my job. Today's the day my boss is getting my letter of resignation I taped to the office door over the weekend. She had scheduled me to work at 1 today but guess who won't be there?? Me! Whatever, she deserves it!

Bono's trying to tell us something, y'all. :shifty:

:hmm: In these latest pics it looks like he might of turned it around. Maybe somebody smacked him when he got home.

Thanks guys  I'm happy with my decision. She called and left me a message this morning asking me to call her back. I'm not sure if I should :hmm:

It might be worth it, Kristen. I know it might be a hard phone call to make, but if she actually wants to talk with you, I think that's a positive thing. If she didn't care that you had quit, I doubt she'd be calling you. Is there any way you could maybe talk to people you worked with before talking to her, and see what her mood is, or if she said anything about you quitting?

That's just my opinion. :) Do what feels best to you.

Amen to that spoiler pic, comet!

Speaking of claddaghs, I have several pieces of jewelry with the claddagh on them, but no "real" ring, as from Ireland. I would *so* love to go again; if I do, a "real" claddagh is #1 on my shopping list!

You're right. It's just uncomfortable. I have a feeling she was calling to give me shit for not showing up for my last scheduled shifts which were today and a couple others this week.

I'll call her tomorrow and get it over with. She left at 2 today so I have to wait.

Cleaning out my closet - trying EVERYTHING on. If I don't like it or it doesn't fit, it goes. I was gonna get rid of this blue tee-shirt dress but I put it on and my little guy says "I LOVE that dress!" Guess that one's a keeper.

aaaawww! Little Z!

Next week will be going through most if not all my bags of clothing that I haven't touched since last summer. Just been rewashing a few sets of stuff ( and I use some summer stuff as layers for winter) + a few winter things, but this is it ! Must purge most stuff that needs purging! :determined: lol.

^*g* Given you're a B/Edge girl, you're forgiven - can't expect you to keep a hot rhythm section pic around if you find what you think is a better melody one ; )
LOL! very good one, drea!

Yeah it looks like a really pretty one too. I wonder if he's wearing it as an actual wedding band. :hmm : I still want to see a good close up of it, but it seems to look something like this:

Prettuh!!!

It's been a decent weekend. More relaxing than the past 4 or 5, that's for sure. : lol And I did get a few things done around the house, too. However, the thing I spoilered about happening Friday night waited till very recently. The next few days are going to be fun. : sad : And tomorrow, I'm leaving from work to drive to where Sarah is, an hour away, to go to an appt with her. Yay.
Bleh, sorry about the timing, VP!

But so happy to hear you had much more relaxed weekend.:hug:
A hug to Sarah from me.

I've been doing a "project," where I'm trying to see if I can listen to all my CDs this year, so I'll load a ton of them onto my iPod for the week and listen to them on the bus, and at work. So I get obsessed with doing that, to the detriment of actually listening to new stuff I've bought.

I'm so weird about CDs.
aaaaah we all have our own methods to both enjoy and deal with!: lol

I have to load all the songs I want off of all my CD's on to my computer. Then down load them into my 1 -:uhoh: forgot the name -- "memory stick" - was once a term right?
THEN buy another one next month on sale or in July to make a double security.

I got a little MP3 player about 4 years ago; it was a special done for Pink! and on sale for $20 because I was just so envious of my sis who's semi-tech illiterate but can afford to buy all manner of stuff, and sometimes it sat and sat until she gets some one to teach her..... and I wanted something!

It (the MP3) did make it to daBronx, tho I don't know where it is right now (lol : | ) but NOT sure about the had phones. I can't find the Selenniar special size earbuds that came with it.
I've never gone to see if there's some other pair that'll fit  DUH

I remember when I got it I was so excited! I uploaded a few of my fave  photos t ( 2 of mt PR/SJ beach ones) o have one me to be able to inspire me or distract me when I was feeling bad.
I got it in the colder months>
that summer NYC was joining up for the 1ST time in the ?Make MUsic Festival>>> the one where there's tons of music of all kinds for free outside for ? either one or a few days.

SO I took my Pink!pod to Brooklyn Burrough Hall and recorded this group that played a certain amount of India inflected/influenced rock music ( they were Indian)>I was so excited to be able to record live music again!!!

My parents called a few minutes before the game start, but they kept things really short. : lo : Love them. I've trained them well. They know to never call me during games unless it's intermission time. :giggle :
Ha! I know when not to call my sis (fave TV shows)!

My orzo salad was reaaaaally good. Ridiculously easy.
ah Orzo.....
We'd have it when one of my aunts would be roasted a leg of lamb for Greek Easter (they fall n the same weekend this year), and the orzo would be in the bottom of the paast to soak up the juices!

Sorry to hear about your job Kristen, unless it's actually a good thing! (I haven't checked FB lately : reject : ) Good luck with whatever you decide to do now!
Thanks guys : hug: I'm happy with my decision. She called and left me a message this morning asking me to call her back. I'm not sure if I should : hmm :

Ooops somehow I missed your original post about this! It's hard flying through a fair amount of pages and catch everything!

Good Luck what ever you decide in the end!

YAY!! Good for you! Quitting a job you hate (or getting away from a boss or coworkers you hate) is the most liberating feeling ever!

:hmm: In these latest pics it looks like he might of turned it around. Maybe somebody smacked him when he got home.

We'll see which way it's pointing when he goes back out on the road.
