I ain't even giving this the time of day, seriously people what is the fucking point??! The comparison isn't even worth considering. What really irritates me is the constant comparisons in the music world between Coldplay and U2, when in my opinion U2 are hundred times more interesting, passionate, uplifting and experimental than Coldplay will ever be.
 
A stupid poll put up by ignorant music fans just trying to get their thrill for the day..the constant comparisons made between the bands are about as boring as Coldplay's music and their band members...I don't mean to be personal, but they really are bland, have no charisma and so overrated and their very success is a bad thing for music as a whole, as it might influence young people starting out to copy them...I wonder what the age of people voting was and whether people are using their hatred towards Bono to sway their vote...

The poll question is not very specific. If we are talking about their entire careers then I would say U2 but if we are talking about right now then I would vote for Coldplay. I thought Viva La Vida was better than NLOTH.

Yep. Interference is to Coldplay what Henry Rollins is to U2. I am certain that just about everything said about Coldplay on Interference has been said about U2 by someone else.
 
Biggest band - maybe Green Day could be mentioned, with the rise in their popularity with the double punch of American idiot and 21st century breakdown.
 
There aren't even a lot of votes so far, U2 is only trailing by like 75. If everyone from Interference showed up over there Coldplay would get slaughtered.

when Coldplay can sell 150 million plus records and sell out stadiums, make records like AB, JT, Pop, & 30 years into their career NLOTH, then they win. They've yet to make Boy, so they lose. Fuck 'em.

LMFAO "better live shows than U2"? Has he even seen U2 live? Muse is great live, but I saw them open for U2 and when U2 went up they made Muse look like amateurs. That quote has me laughing.
 
I thought Coldplay's Viva La Vida was one of the best albums I've ever listened to in the past years (with ATYCLB & HTDAAB behind it) :reject:. But U2 still beats. :D

I like both enough, but definitely in the U2 field both live and career-wise. Not big on Parachutes myself, but their first few albums are better than U2's first few overall, imo.
