lolz! My friends hide their mask in unusual parts of the house to scare eachother, in the closet, the medicine cabinet, the fridge, behind the visor in the car!

I'm glad to be rid of BTBS and Pride as well. I do love SBS, though.

Likewise! Have you got any more runs coming up? I haven't been able to read back on all the posts lately, everyone's been posting like mad!

No, I'm done with the competitive runs for a few months now. My last one was last weekend. I'll still run every now and then, so I can keep up my fitness with that, but won't do another race until Sept/Oct. I've started swimming now, as I do a 1 mile swim race in July every year, and have begun training for that. Should be fun! :)

ETA - Creepy mask! Btw, weren't the masks in the DVD creepy, especially with all the lights shining through them?! :yikes:

I never picked up a mask... :reject:

Ooh, pre-show boredom was fun...

Oh well. I just tell myself that it's a crowd pleaser, and they're not making the setlist exclusively for me. What can you do?

They SHOULD make one just for you!

Not too shabby... just finished a mad two weeks at work, now looking forward to a very boring few weeks before it goes mad again. *L* Wishing I could pay my car off faster so I can start saving for travel... everyone I know seems to be on hols at the moment so I'm getting itchy feet again.

I know, thinking about rescheduling the 360 stuff for next year, taking my son to Disneyland in Feb and TRYING in vain to save for a holiday for Mr.Z and myself, which is nearly impossible with Real Life getting in the way! :madwife:

Did a triathlon back in March and don't have anything on the books til Oct. which is good b/c I've put on a few pounds and can't run the way I used to. My cycling is getting really good though (dropped 6 minutes from my time) and I'm about the same in the pool

hi Amy, I"m Zooey!

Maybe I'll skip that bit... :uhoh:

Ah, cool stuff... is it too warm there to do races during summer?

I'm so glad I have you guys. It's almost like watching the dvd with you all. I keep pausing and rewinding in vital parts to show Sarah (she's been reading a book and surfing the web) and she glances up, but I can see her mentally rolling her eyes. She's all about the live experience and new music, but other than that, she doesn't muster up much enthusiasm. :|

 It's just a few shots here and there...

It really depends - last summer we had a massive heat wave, so it was around 40C for quite a while, but normally it's in the 20-25 degree range. I do better running in cooler weather, so I prefer to leave the races to spring and fall.

I'm bringing the dvd to the resort with me tomorrow

Awesome!
They SHOULD make one just for you!

The *should*. But alas, they won't.

Besides, my setlist would consist a lot of Bono whispering sweet nothings into my ear, and I'm not sure how entertaining that'd be for the rest of the crowd.

Holy shit, this is slow going. 4th glass of wine poured, and I'm just starting Streets.

How's this for a confession? I'm tired of Streets, and it does nothing for me.

If she gets a personalised setlist, we'll all want one... (Which certainly doesn't mean that it shouldn't happen!)

I just want them to bring back the slide solo in Mysterious Ways. I was crushed when it was missing ...

Stoopid Real Life! :madwife: Something should be done about it.
That sounds like a great plan though... hope it works out!

Woohoo, good stuff about the cycling time! :applaud:

And don't worry, I want to hear about your athletics things as well :D Unfit people like me can just live vicariously through super people like you and Thora

Seems summer's not a popular time for races?

That's fine. I'll keep the rhythm section busy!

get. out. of. my. internet.

I love that we all have such different opinions on what are good/bad songs. :)

I don't think I'll ever get tired of Streets. It gives me shivers and makes me cry every time I see/hear it live. I'm such a pathetic sap when it comes to that song. :reject:

Nice pic, Ali! :giggle:

I don't think I have any pre-show pics - I was just texting people to stave off the boredom. :)

I have about twenty billion almost identical pics of the claw from the various spots I occupied in GA... maybe having a spare battery and memory card with me was a bad thing. *L*
I couldn't help it... every time I looked at it I was like "Woah, that's impressive", and wanted to take another photo.

And it would be such a perfect stage for resurrecting some songs from Pop... </daydream>

It's okay... you have U2 DVDs, she has Dr Who...

Yeah, I have bazillions of claw pictures too. :giggle:

Oh man, that would have been so awesome! I was dying to hear some Pop songs. Maybe one can hope for when the tour resumes!

You're normal. I'm in the minority. Or perhaps even alone? Probably. It's just that even during the years I wasn't obsessive, that song was...everywhere. I recognize its greatness, intellectually. It just doesn't do for me what it used to. There are so many other songs now that give me the "Streets rush." Like COBL. Or Miracle Drug, from last tour. I dunno, it's just very overplayed for me, and it's lost its impact.

True. :lmao:

Ye gods, that's pretty warm! Our summer wasn't as bad as the one before (thank god), we only seemed to get one or two stinking hot days in a row before a cool change came through. Not so many days close to or at 40C, either, but there were still a few.

It doesn't often make me cry any more, but I feel much the same way... the intro especially will never bore me, I hope. I got a trifle annoyed at Bono when he was talking over it at the Vertigo gigs... :reject:

Stuck, on the other hand... :|

I know. Blasphemy. But it's how I feel. :reject:

'sokay. I'll forgive you. *pouts* But I might have to not be your friend for about 37 seconds or so. Just warning you.

Nah, you're not alone - I know several people who aren't a fan of it. :)

Last summer was definitely unusual. Everyone was complaining, but I was reveling in the heat. I LOVE hot weather!! :D

Definitely - the intro is my favourite part. Yeah, none of that talking over the intro. I love that he's shut up during that part now. :giggle:

I even printed one out to show the people at work who aren't U2 fans at all... after all the pics of Cornish fishing villages and epic Swiss mountains and Dutch cathedrals older than my country (from a colonial point of view) and Leichtenstein's Kunstmuseum, they said "What on earth is that?" ... and I said "U2's stage"... and they said "Oh."

:fingerscrossedforMofo:!

Mr.Z hates that Bono "mumbles and moans and yells" over the intro. Whenever I hear the intro I just want to RUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN around that stage :hyper:
Was Vertigo the "What can I give back to God for the blessings he's put upon us?" I don't particularly believe in that God but I still love that idea.

I've never cried at a show I've been to, ever. Never even close. Till the second show I saw this tour, and I cried during Unknown Caller, of all songs. I don't know. That night, it resonated with me. :reject:

And I love Stuck live. I think anything that gives Edge a chance to sing.

'sokay. I'll forgive you. *pouts* But I might have to not be your friend for about 37 seconds or so. Just warning you.

That 37 seconds was the most painful ever. Let's not ever disagree again.

I totally understand where you're coming from, I went through a stage when I was pretty much fed up with all of JT (except for Exit)... for that matter, I went through a couple of stages when I was fed up with U2 in general. You hear something so many times, and it becomes just another song. I got to liking Streets again, other songs have never got their impact back. Some never had much/any in the first place...

Even Bad live didn't have the same impact for me this time as it did for Vertigo... :reject:

Yeah. Agnostic, here. But that is a nice concept.

Which, btw, it bugs the shit out of me when fans say "you don't believe?? How can you be a U2 fan, gasp!!11!!" Um.... :| Easy. For the aesthetics?
