Hi!!! I can't PM since my inbox is full and I'm too lazy to clear it. ;) You can e-mail me at crazyme9920 @ yahoo though.

I got the OK for 3 or 4 days off(not sure if I want to get in the 14th and have an extra day to see San Fran. Haven't been there in 10 years!). Another thing or two to clear, and I am so in.

I really need to make my hotel reservations for this. Is there any place that a lot of Interferencers are staying like we've done for Anaheim?

Me too.

BTW, BC... Which is the Anaheim hotel?

TownePlace Suites Anaheim Maingate Near Angel Stadium

Anaheim, California 92806 USA
Phone: 1-714-939-9700 Fax: 1-714-939-9887

a bunch of us are staying there

I guess there isn't a similar thing happening for this Oakland show though. Right now I'm thinking of staying in San Francisco and driving to the show since we'll have a car anyways and plan to leave early for the show. After show traffic doesn't bother me and I actually like having a car to fall into right after the show when I'm not the one driving.
(I did drive home to San Diego after the Pasadena show after getting up at 5am that day... we got home at 4am that night after the show. :crack: Unreal.)

I have a GA for this show(thanks Edge_Orchestra!), and I'm booking my flight next week. Tax return arrived at a perfect time.

Me=excited. :hyper:

Yay! I hope to meet some more Interferencers for the first time on this trip! :)

Krisi 83 & I are staying at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Oakland Airport.

It is about 2 miles from the Coliseum and that is why we chose it. Hopefully will be easy to get back to after the gig.

Yay DG!

My hotel is at the airport too. I don't know which one off hand. I'll have to look through my conformations when I get home.

I will be there Bonocomet. :D Isn't that all one needs?

I will be at both Anaheim, Oakland, Denver and Seattle.

I have to sort out my travel plans soon.

PS - TownePlace Suites Anaheim Maingate Near Angel Stadium
is all book up for the dates of the U2 shows.

for those of you visiting from elsewhere, what sights in San Francisco are you interested in seeing? I'm curious what out-of-towners are intersted in?

If anyone is in town on Friday (18th), my family and I will be going to the California Academy of Science (completely new and re-done) and the DeYoung. On the 15th we'll probably go to Fishermans Warf and Ghiradelli Square.

Man this show is on the worst day ever to be honest. Not like I havent done all that touristy stuff a million times being that I live here, but it still sucks because I probably will only be able to take one day off.

I've been to SF once, and I saw a bunch of places in the city that time, because I had the City Pass. The ones I really enjoyed were the Bay Cruise tour that takes you under the Golden Gate Bridge, the Alcatraz tour, the cable cars (of course!) and its museum, Fisherman's Wharf crab stations (YUM!).

I also loved going around on the F train. On Tuesdays and Saturdays there is a farmer's market at the Ferry building, which is worth a visit. Chinatown is a great place to find cheap, good Asian foods (which I love). I also managed to get to the Legion of Honor by Muni bus because they had Annie Leibovitz photo exhibition at the time.

SF is great because there's a lot of information on the web about transportation, places to see, etc. I recommend the City Pass if this is your first time to SF and you're gonna be there for more than 3 days. You get unlimited Muni bus rides and cable cars for a week, and passes to the Aquarium, ferry ride, MOMA, etc.

This time around, I'm more interested in seeing places outside the city, like Muir Woods and Sausalito. Of course I'll also make a visit to Fisherman's Wharf crab stations and Chinatown for dimsum, but other than that I don't really have any specific places in the city in mind. What other sights in your list that I missed?

Can you tell that I  SF? :D

Lining Up for the Show..please help.

So, I haven't had time this tour to pay attention to how things are going out there. I'll be attending the Oakland show in June. Can someone tell me the how they are doing lines this year? I have GA's and want to be down in front.

Are they doing wristbands?

Does it matter what time I line up?

What's the earliest you can line up?

Any info would be much appreciated. This way I can find out if I need just one day off of work or 3 :) Thanks again! Can't believe its been 10 years since I signed up on this site!!!

The venue doesn't normally do wristbands for the shows. I remember they did it for San Jose Vertigo but most of the time its fan organized, meaning the fans will hand out wristbands or write numbers on everyone's hands.

Depending on the venue they usually dont allow overnight camping out so fans may start lining up across the street or just check in to get a # and come back in the morning. I'd say lining up in the early morning would be good enough to get a spot in front. I've lined up pretty late in the afternoon and still managed to get good spots and even get in the pit.

I'm going to move this to the Oakland thread, as that would be the best place to get info for this specific venue.
