Housework can go burn. Still so much more to do.

Also, this Vampire Weekend is like the original, but with less horrendously egregious moments. I still give a fuck about an Oxford comma.

I've never listened to Vampire Weekend (to my knowledge), and I don't really care to. Is that bad of me?

this vampire weekend album. don't think i'm going to get answer out of the clique so any of you heard it?

I hate anything those preppy scumbags touch, so it's a shock that I even found it to be average. Vampire Weekend channels superior music through what Axver would refer to as a "stereotypical indie" filter. They are also considered gods by modern frat boy hipsters.

so essentially there are an everyman's "indie" band, not standouts or anything. may skip.

what have you listened to so far trav?

Please do. Conveniently, they're probably the only indie band on earth that doesn't need my monetary support: they met and subsequently formed in their lovely Ivy League dormitory at Columbia University. GFY Vampire Weekend.

2010 albums I've heard, ranked for your convenience:

1. L!o!s! C!a!m!p!e!s!i!n!o!s!!!111 - Romance Is Boring (A-)
2. Spoon - Transference (B+)
3. Shearwater - The Golden Archipelago (B)
4. Yeasayer - Odd Blood (B)
5. Vampire Weekend - Contra (C)
6. Lil Wayne - Rebirth (D+)
7. Ke$ha - Animal (D+)

Tomorrow's not so bad in comparison of today: 8 hours of work and a 10-page application for the community service site I signed up for.

Wow, I don't think I've listened to a 2010 album yet. Spoon will probably pop my cherry bomb in that sense.

Ok thread full of VW-haters, Danny listen to the album if you're curious and form an opinion. As I said in that review, I hated the debut as much as Traviud over there. In fact, at least Traviud FINISHED the debut, I couldn't even do that much. And yet, here I am PURCHASING this one, so I think it's a great turn-around on their part.

Anyways, just my two cents.

Maybe someday I'll explore Vampire Weekend. But today is not that day. Tomorrow isn't hopeful to be that day, either. Perhaps in May.

LM, you haven't listened to Surfer Blood's Astro Coast yet?

Shall I venture into the land of Los! Cam!pe!sin!os!!!!! ?

Oh yes, if you listen to anything by them, make it Contra. The debut is just...it makes ME hate everything about the indie scene for a half hour.

Haven't even heard of it, my friend. What's it sound like?

And no, probably not, but if you really want to, this is the album to do it with. They've reined in their more irritating qualities and made an album I'm proud to say I love. Hard to say what exactly I love about it, except that the songs are all fucking ace. It's also their most ambitious work, I'd say.

Los Campesinos are another band that I haven't given the time of day, nor do I necessarily feel like I should.

Sorry, Ashley: Album Review: Contra by Vampire Weekend (again) ? An Ocean of Noise

Here's your answer: Album Review: Astro Coast by Surfer Blood ? An Ocean of Noise

I feel like I should listen to Los!!!!, etc., just so that I actually know what I'm ragging on for pointless lulz. I also want to try to listen to half the amount of albums you do this year.

LM, if you hadn't seen the other thread, everyone but me suggested you listen to the self-titled BRMC album first. I said do a back-to-back of Howl and Baby 81.

I want to hear the debut, just for Love Burns. But I'll follow that with Howl instead of going totally chronological.

You very well might like the whole of the debut.... It just doesn't grab me besides Love Burns.
