Houston we have a problem:ohmy:

I am debating whether or not I should go on a U2 FAST for the SEVEN Hour drive from Dayton Ohio to Virginia in the morning:huh:

I can handle U2 360 Bootlegs for most of the trip but I am not sure if I want the children to hear what it will be like PRIOR to actually being there :reject:

Won't matter. Do you think watching baseball on TV cheapens the experience of going to a live ballgame?

See you all there!

I don't know, but parking in a residential area for a concert or sporting event at night strikes me as just an awful idea.

Why? It's not like the residents & police don't enforce those areas.
Esp. when UVA residents routinely offer up their parking areas for sale during event.

Good God that Claw really takes up half of the stadium...
Now I want to go... :scream:
To those who have been to the stadium, are those all bleacher seats (no backs)? People paid $250 for bleacher seats?

I don't know if seats were being sold for $250, but yes, what you are seeing are bleacher seats. It is a college football stadium, after all.

I don't know if this has been discussed, but in terms of parking, there are a few options:

You can purchase a temporary blue permit from the university's parking and transportation office General Visitor Parking Information, Parking & Transportation, U.Va.

Also, there's a shuttle that drops off right by the stadium: Stadium/Hospital Shuttle, Parking & Transportation, U.Va.

If it were me, I'd probably find a local student apartment complex with free parking, then take a bus or two to the stadium. That requires some research though.

Have fun, everyone!

I paid for the VIP "experience" tonight (I figured we only live once, may as well feel VIP-ish at some point, don't expect a whole lot from it, though)... Also figure, they may be bleacher seats, but is anybody going to be sitting?? To paraphrase someone from another thread, I paid the money, I'm getting up to move my fat ass :applaud:

You'd be surprised...

Still, that's one of the reasons I wanted to go to this show. The other venues on this NA tour have had seats so far. I bet it would look really cool to see the entire crowd standing...especially since those bleachers will probably be FRIGID tonight.

didn't see this posted anywhere...maybe a setlist surprise in store?

Get Ready for ‘The Claw’!

Local media got a sneak peek this afternoon at the U2 stage, aka ‘The Claw,’ — the set for the “biggest rock show ever,” according to U2 production manager Jake Berry, who has been producing bigtime shows for 25 years.
The photo can’t do it justice. This thing is HUGE — 90 feet tall, with the center pylon reaching 150 feet. The steel superstructure weighs nearly 500 tons, Berry said, and is holding up 170 tons of suspended equipment, including the 50-foot-diameter cylindrical video screen that weighs in at a svelte 54 tons (and has some “Transformers” mojo up its sleeve).
Charlottesville is the first college town on the 360 tour, and U2 will be adjusting their set list to suit a college audience, Berry said, so we may be hearing a few songs that nobody else has heard so far on this tour.
No matter what they do or don’t include in the playlist, Charlottesville will be talking about this show for a while. Tickets are still on sale.

i am SO excited. i used Jedi mind tricks and got today off from work, and now my best friend is going to go with me, and after the massive stadium in DC (where the show was great) the comparative intimacy of this stadium has me in a tizzy.

yay!

mofo mofo mofo mofo mofo! :hyper:

I'm headed to the stadium pretty soon. I have Red Zone for this show, but I'm paranoid about not being able to park, so I'm going really early.
