Still listening: I'm glad there's an actual seque into Streets now instead of that Tutu One speech. Although Walk On -->Streets is nothing compared to Please --->Streets or Running to Stand Still --->Streets it's going to have to do.

Chez YLB has now been relocated to Tallahassee, if any of you guys are wondering. Meet my roommate tomorrow for the first time, so that'll be good. Seems like a nice dude over the phone.

Gonna try and meet some people tonight. Yikes.

Very exciting stuff, Jake! Have fun and I hope your roommate is as nice as he seemed on the phone.

Man, I wish I could go back to Freshman year. Sooooo awesome. Well, just the first semester really, before I wanted to kill myself.

I'm one of the few people I know of who fucking loved HS but did not really love college. Though, my HS featured a pretty collegiate vibe, in a good way.

college was/is something i've viewed as a task, since sadly these days to even get an entry-level job in most fields you have to have at least a two year degree. high school i enjoyed a little bit more, but there were still many parts of it i didn't love. i really can't look back on any schools and think of it as something i loved after i moved here. i'm not constantly stuck in the past or anything, it's just...different.

so basically i haven't really loved school since sixth grade. though like i said, i did enjoy parts of high school so hopefully that makes me a little less lame.

I miss school. I feel like I'm getting dumber without the mental challenge.

i don't miss school. the only year that was any fun was 2005, which was my last year. even that was pretty dull. i'll miss college UNIVERSITY a bit more, but that's mainly going to be the friends rather than all of that stuff involved with it. really, both only were much good with better friends, otherwise i'd look at both less favourably. i've only started enjoying uni when we got grouped into our major (21 people!) and started doing practical stuff.

i don't even remember what my point is. don't do drugs, or something.

Been seven years since I graduated from high school. What the crap have I been doing with my life?

I was miserable all throughout high school, but university was fun. I didn't enjoy some of the school aspect of it all that much, but the friends I made and the fun times we had made it an excellent 4 years.

Lately I've been debating going back to get my Masters, but I'm not totally sure yet. It would mean a huge shift in my career, but there are a lot of things to think about first. It would be kinda awesome to get an extra degree behind my name. :D

I'm inclined to agree. There was one show on the Elevation tour that I saw where they didn't play it. I noticed this, and the show was better, at least in my opinion. Although I'm sure 19,000 others were disappointed they didn't play it.

I'm all about playing the hits if that's what you want to do, but that was pretty awful - he mumbles through most of it and then murders the falsetto at the end

I just think there is no point performing a hit if you are going to make it sound so bad.

I agree. WOWY is a beautiful song that still blows me away in studio form...but the current Live versions are horrid.

By the way, I'm getting more and more pissed every time they play Elevation. I am the first to argue that the band plays songs that the masses like, as opposed to the diehards, but.....yeah, Elevation is a tough pill to swallow....I was looking at the One Tree Hill performance that did not make it into R&H last night, and could not stop thinking about just how many songs of theirs are better than Elevation.

They used to take risks. I don't expect them to take too many these days, but to that end, they should not position them as a group that might/does.

I'll say this, though: NLOTH, like it or not, did break away from the formula of the prior 2 albums, so in that sense they took a small risk.

Still, yeah, Live...they are amazing, still, but a little more adventure from night to night would be bliss.

I've heard Elevation in person too many times....the fun is gone. And, yes yes, I represent a tiny minority but still. I'll take so many songs over Elevation.
