 the big day.

you should invite greg inglis, he'll have nothing on anyway
depending on when i get legally allowed into the country to get married (as opposed to just visiting - i don't know why i'm suddenly picturing the jail square in monopoly) it's tentatively set for february 15 when we legally tie the knot, but a bit longer until we do the wedding proper, if you will.

ah, immigration laws.

hey, i'm choosing to believe the version of the story where he was stopping her from harming herself!

wow, that's kind of a bummer.

me too, i hope it all works out. the nrl's had a bad year and he's a good player.

eh, it's not a big deal. it'll all work out eventually. i'll just rack up the frequent flier miles in the meantime! i'll be over in november regardless.

exactly. for rather obvious reasons i really can't get into the nrl now

Looks like it's just the predictable set.

I think it's a terrible shame the predictable set is the one with Elevation in sixth and Stuck in eighth, when those slots could respectively have NYD/MW and Stay.

Will be interesting to see if MW shows up after One, like at the first London show. And it will also be interesting to see whether they change the set for Sheffield or not ...

Sheffield will be broadcast that could mean greatest hits set

Given it's just a radio broadcast rather than a more significant recording, I don't think U2 will be as anal about it as they could be.

But I nonetheless expect identical set to today.

Anyway, how's things, John?

Things are good, managed to get a decent timetable for my next term of college which is good

A little annoyed right now though, my programme I'm using won't let me save my mix and I'm not ready to mix it down to two channels yet, so it's annoying trying to figure out what to do

And yourself?

I'm not too bad, though I wish I weren't up at such an ungodly hour for such an unremarkable set. Ah well, these things can't be helped.

My uni schedule has worked out well this year, but after 3.5 years I FINALLY have a class on Friday. Damn. But I barely go into uni this semester so I can't complain!

Just need to get stuck into my thesis now. Kind of expected to write about 5,000 words in the next fortnight ...

If I weren't updating U2gigs live, I'd have quite happily slept through this show! I only had 2.5 hours' sleep. I'm definitely back off to bed once this is done.

I'm surprised I'm not fucking dying here. I'm actually fairly alright, but as soon as my head hits the pillow again, I'll go out like a light.

And I dig that Bono's snippeting ADWM ... but I'd dearly love the band to play the whole song. Oh man.

If I could only hear one song from Boy live ever again, it'd be Twilight.

(But I can only easily say that because I've already heard TEC live.)

TEC was a huge highlight of the Vertigo Tour, definitely one of their best live songs. Sucked that it faded from the set by the end and we didn't get it in Australia. Makes me all the more thankful I went to Boston.

Alison and I discussed this the other night ... if I could only hear one song from a U2 album live again in my life (automatically disqualifying anything I've already heard), they would be:

Boy: Twilight
October: Rejoice
War: Like A Song
UF: A SORT OF HOMECOMING
JT: Exit
RAH: Hawkmoon (as I don't believe Heartland would sound as good live nowadays, while the Hawkmoon slide solo intro would still kill)
Achtung: Acrobat
Zooropa: Dirty Day (based on past live performances ... if Zooropa were actually done properly, I'd take it over Dirty Day)
Pop: Mofo (even though Gone is my favourite Pop song, Mofo kills live)
ATYCLB: The Ground Beneath Her Feet
HTDAAB: Fast Cars
NLOTH: Fez

Boy: Twilight
October: Tomorrow or Gloria
War: Like a Song or Drowning Man
UF: A Sort of Homecoming
JT: Exit
RAH: God Part 2
AB: Acrobat
Zooropa: Zooropa
Pop: Mofo
ATYCLB: When I Look At the World
HTDAAB: Fast Cars
NLOTH: Fez

for me

Oh man, this intermittent live feed is great. Haven't heard the band for the last 30 seconds: you couldn't hear U2, just a bit of the crowd carried on the wind ...
