Official "Bitch about the stupid mask" thread

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

at Lambeau Field, everyone wore Mike Holmgren masks during the 1996 season. now THAT was cool!

Yes, but they all paint their faces and dance around shirtless in subzero weather, so we already know they're crazy!

people get ready.

It wouldn't be a crap idea if Walk On was a single and if they decided to make a video of the live performance (just once) instead of a cheap video in Brazil to promote the song.
It's just.... hmmm.... 8 years too late.

I take it you never saw the other version of the video....

I was gone for a day or so and look what the hell happens!!

It's not like U2 is asking us to print masks and actually wear them or something....

oh wait :|

Can we point and laugh at the people who show up in plain ol' paper masks, and tell them they're not clever?

:crack:

I thought we were going to point and laugh at the women who wear boots .

The masks though . . . what a weird/stupid idea :crack:

It's a good cause, but can't we just wear a pin or a wristband or release some balloons?

weird.

i suppose it will help raise awareness of who she is but it's still oddly random.

i hope that bono doesn't wear one while singing walk on.

Haven't read all 12 pages of posts, but the most embarassing part of this is that they are going to play Walk On at all, with or without the mask stunt. That is absolutely, IMO, the worst song in U2's catalog. Sounds like a cheesy show tune. Tries hard to be inspiring and falls on its face in the saddest way. It's not even worth laughing at.

So much mind blowing talent, so many stunningly good songs, and they choose to play this. Guess I know I'll get at least one piss break.

There are a lot of people who say otherwise. The Tributes To Heroes version is amazingly beautiful. I'm glad WO is back in the set, full band.

you COULD use your mask:hmm:

I love Walk On and am glad it is back in the set. As for the masks I really don't like the idea

Regardless what you think of the mask thing... Well, I dunno about you, but I like to oh I dunno WATCH a concert when I am there. Do the masks at least have holes for the eyes? Do they not want us to see the performance of Walk On?
